How to get a steady income of diamonds?
I own all DLC.

Already got a decent amount of Oregano flowers and some Mustard flowers. Are there any other flowers you can recommend?

I've been considering the Money tree (haven't unlocked the Rubber tree yet), but not sure if it's a good investment. I don't really like trees since you need to be online at the correct season to harvest them. Flowers seem more flexible.

I'm also occasionally planting some crops that reward diamonds, but I rather have something permanent (something that doesn't need replanting). But I'm curious to hear if there's any particular crop that you'd recommend to get diamonds.

I also haven't invested much in animals, I don't have enough medals to invest in animal feeders, and animals do need to be feeded pretty often. But if there's any animals you recommend, please let me know.

I like fish, but as fas as I know there are no fish that reward diamonds. Wouldn't mind being wrong here though. :P

Thanks for any advice :)

Trees: Rubber trees are good if you're online a lot. I don't think Money trees are worth the investment.

Flowers: You'll unlock the Tea plants eventually; green, red, and black. The black tea gives the best return, but they'll require ribbons (medals) to plant.

Crops: I haven't really delved into diamond-giving crops, somebody else can probably fill you in on those.

Animals: Only event reward animals give diamonds, and they are very limited in number. Feeders aren't strictly necessary, but animals are kind of a pain to keep fed.

Fish: There are fish that give diamonds, but they are all event rewards. Of these the Narwhal is best, because its number isn't artificially limited, and it has 100% catch rate. Let me know if you want me to come put some narwhals on your farm. They cost 20 diamonds each, but they'll start paying themselves back pretty quick.

Thanks. I might take a look at Rubber trees once I've unlocked them. I might get a few. Not too much, probably.

I've quite a few levels to go to unlock them, and they indeed require quite a lot of medals...

Yeah, I thought so. Animals are a pain to keep fed indeed.

Interesting. How many type of event fish are there, and can I still unlock them somehow?

Narwhal isn't listed at https://farmtogether.fandom.com/wiki/Ponds , so I guess the wiki is out of date.

I'll keep your offer in mind. First I have to find a spot for them, and be sure I have enough diamonds to build the ponds.

Currently there are 3 event fish. Two of them, Sardine and Bass, are from the Fishing Contest which will come back around in early November, as I recall. The Narwhal was a reward from an event in April, so you have a bit of a wait ahead of you if you want to earn it for yourself. The wiki is indeed out of date.

Pink peppercorn and turmeric are good crops for diamonds.

Ah, it'll take a while before I can unlock those fish. I'd like to make use of your offer. I've sent you a friend request. :)

Thanks. I've yet to unlock those, but I'll level up my black peppercorn a bit more :)

Do you turn resources into diamonds regularly?

what kind of return do narwhales give?
Shinerunner Jul 19, 2020 @ 11:05am
If you did the archeological event this month the Rafflesia flowers are great for diamonds. Mine are level 30 now and harvest for 17 diamonds each every 6 hours. There is a cap of 50 plants so technically my 50 level 30 plants could get 3.4k daily if harvest on time and watered.

yeah I've got a swarm of mustard and those 50 flowers, just curious as to narwhales.

Didn't realise the wiki was out of data either ;P

Narwhals start out giving 1 or 2 diamonds, but they level up pretty quickly, and the 100% catch rate helps.

Some data points from my farms:
Level 199 Narwhal: 8 diamonds per fish
Level 218 Narwhal: 9 diamonds per fish
Level 231 Narwhal, level 14 pond filter system: 11 diamonds per fish
Level 165 Narwhal, level 40 pond filter system: 12 diamonds per fish

And when you have a few hundred of them, it adds up.

yeah sounds pretty nice, getting about 10k every 10h (so twice a day) from my mustard farm wouldn't mind a thousand of those fish too

Yes, I do. Pretty much the only thing I do with resources at this point.

How frequently can you fish Narwhals?

Flowers: Saffron, Dandelions, Mustard give good returns. Level teas asap, I planted a number of blacks and I get quests for the green and red occasionally so I planted a few of them also. Dandelions may be coming up next event in Summer Festival.
