The feeder will work for a single animal field connected to it. If two different fields are connected to it (such as pigs on one side and chickens on the other), only one of them will be used (each side has different priority).
An animal field includes all types of compatible animals (such as all types of chickens), so no matter the distance it should help increase their capacity. The relative amount of animals is taken into account (so for example if you have 20 chickens of one kind and 5 of another, the capacity would increasy approximately in 12 tiles for the first one and 3 for the other one).
Still not sure I understand that
may i put together 2x5 chicken (2 types) and also put in this field 5 pigs? and how many feeders do i need for this field? do i bonus if i put more than 1 feeder to this field? do feeders last longer if i put more of them to field?
Sorry but I really can't. The way feeders work is complex, because they have to deal with the complexity of merged animal fields.
Answering your specific questions:
Animals of the same type can be usually put together. On top of that:
* Ducks and chickens can be put together
* Goat and Sheep can be put together
* Horses, Alpacas and Donkeys can be put together
No, you can't put pigs and chickens in the same field.
The "maximum" number of feeders is one every 15 tiles in a field. More than that won't have any effect.
the following was important to know:
(especially the last point about maximum)
