Designing tips and ideas?
I unlocked all the expansions on my farm first before trying to do any design. Just looking for any advice on where to get started and best way to allocate space for my crops/flowers/trees? I've gotten started but there is so much space it's very intimidating.

That is the fun part of visiting other people's farms. You can see how they did things and copy all the little bits you like! Other then that it all depends on how you like to play the game and what you want easy access to etc. 🙂

yea i love just running around and gawking at all the pretty stuff :-) Anyway, the design also depends on what kind of farm you chose. For me, all flat is the most easy to plan but to me it's also the least interesting. I just made another farm and this time chose "mostly water" and must say, like it a lot. And I'm pushing in only one direction to get to the flat border, which is where I put all the "serious" crops, like rows of flowers.

I've seen other people deal with those horrible cracks (mostly in the middle parts of the map) by encircling them with loads of fish. Seems pretty smart so I started doing that.

whatever, it's your game and the beauty of it is that you get to do whatever YOU want. :-)

I started off wanting a large farm, I visited many farms and decided being so organized that I needed everything fairly much together. Because there are so many different amounts of eg animals, crops etc I found it hard to remember where everything was when it came to quests. As previously mentioned , it depends on which farm you choose to how it can be organised. If you have a flat farm like me I found it easier to have all things together, but water farms and steep farms can be a bit harder to organise but if you remember where things are should be ok. I suggest you have if not already visit other farms as mentioned to give you some ideas. It’s your farm and you can do whatever you like to your style of play. You have too enjoy your farm as you may be the one on it the most. Have fun and hope you enjoy decorating! 😽 ps if you need any help you only have to ask.

A good tip for getting started decorating your farm is to decide on a theme or style that you want or a spot on your farm that inspires you. ^_^ For example, one of my farms had an open spot with interesting rocks around it and it inspired me to put up a fantasy "Druidic Circle" there. On other farms, I started with a theme, such as "sweets" for my "Sweets 'N Treats" farm. If that helps any... ^_^;

hahahahaha the only way i can remember where stuff is, is to put them in the same place on every farm. Which makes things a little less interesting but at least I know where they are! So for me, rows of flowers are always at the bottom-right corner of the map, crop fields next to the flowers, in the middle of that last bottom row on the map. trees at the top.

Barns and fish in the middle, surrounding the worst cracks.

It has occurred to me, that for FarmingTogetherTWO, most of us could use an object to use as a "map marker". An object which we can place on our farm but when visitors open up the map, they can see a little.... note or symbol which says "X here!". Or maybe just some cute little signposts (placed on the farm) which point to "flowers that way!" Cos when i'm just driving my tractor around, with so many farms, I get confused where things are. Which is why I have to keep putting things in the same place! But maybe that's just me?

Anyway, that's another reason why this time, I'm only unlocking a new field if I absolutely have to, and each one to be unlocked is carefully chosen.

That's why the icons are showing on the field, so you can exactly see where everything is, even when just visiting farms. If you need more, you can always write the names above it, or use an icon that shows on your map like this person did: https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/32023457/e1e1c9581836170a9b118792955cf1208f05ce3e.jpg

And we also have signposts already that you can select what to show exactly like you described: https://farmtogether.fandom.com/wiki/Arrow_Wood_Sign

O_o dang. That map is AMAZING. dang. I am seriously beyond impressed. The amount of effort and organization to make something like that.... just mind boggling. Do you remember who's farm that map belongs to? Cos I would like to visit :D :D :D

And thanks for the reminder about the signs, I do see those in the decor tab but for some reason I just never think about using them. hmmmm! :-)

Nah I just googled and took this one as an example, there are many more like it that use the same marking technique of writing with roads or making small icons. Their twitch name is on the map though if you want to track this person down.
