2: yes u can feed animals on other peoples farms.
3: the decent thing to do is plow after u harvest yes :)
4: people like helping new people out then only go for newer people or high lvl farms to gather boost... the rights of your farm have little to do with visitors its mainly level. i personally have quest & harvest for guests & plant rights for friends.
5: if set to quest people can plant the quest crops u have on existing plots untill they hit the quests limit like if u need 100 carrots people can plant 100 carrots only not more.
6: the boost meter is in top left or your screen under your avatar. u get bonus money,xp & produce(instead of 1 vegetable u get 2) the timer is under the yellow boost marker.
hope that helps :)
Q2: Some farms don't want you to feed the animals or harvest them. When you join a farm, there is a welcome screen that explains the wishes of the farm owner. Consider them the "rules" for that farm. I've found that a lot of people don't read that screen and it frustrates me when they harvest my animals after I've asked them not to. On my farm, I only harvest the animals when I have a quest for them or if I need eggs/wheat/cheese for cooking in the houses. I have fed the animals and gotten them to the point of harvest so they're ready to go when I get a quest for them, and it messes things up when someone jumps in and immediately starts harvesting the animals.
Q3: It sounds like you got kicked off a farm for using the gas station. I had the same thing happen to me once, so don't let it bother you. I chalked it up to someone that didn't understand that your tractor's gas tank is empty when you join, so the only way you can do anything on their farm is by first fueling up. I'm not about to harvest everything by hand. lol There are plenty of other farms to visit, so just shrug it off and move on to someone that is more welcoming. :) Also remember to mark the farms as "favorite" when you find farm owners that you enjoy talking to and working with. With so many farms listed on the "find farms" screen, it helps to see which ones are favorites that you've had good experiences with previously. If you really connected with a certain farm owner and have found someone you feel you could trust to help you with your farm, you may want to ask about adding them to your steam friend's list also.
Q4: The permissions on your farm are really up to you. It's all about how much risk you're willing to assume. I give my steam friends "plant and harvest" permissions but everyone else just has "quest and harvest" permissions. I think the only farms that people avoid are those that have "none" for permissions. Unless you're just interested in seeing how someone decorated their farm, there's not really much incentive to visit a farm where you aren't allowed to do anything.
Q5: Most of the question was answered already, but you also asked if the visitor gets credit for the quest when permissions are set to "quest and harvest". If the quest is for an event, then you and the visitor both get credit for the event items. If the quest is just one of the random quests, then the visitor gets xp and his boost meter, but he would not have the same quest on his own farm, so it doesn't complete a quest for him for his farm. I hope that makes sense.
Q6: Spikey explained it well. When my meter is full, I think it lasts about 15 minutes (can't remember exactly). I don't recall whether that increases as you level up like the gas tank increases with leveling.
The fact that you're asking these questions shows that you'll be a conscientious helper that will be welcome on most farms. Good luck and enjoy yourself.
Thanks, Spikey. I'm at lvl 94, but I just don't pay a lot of attention to the length of time I get on the boost. I'm usually just interested in helping friends, and the boost is just a side benefit that I sort of forget about. :) Appreciate the info.
