Well yeah you could pay for windows server, and run your dedicated server on there. But you should buy the game for a 2nd time.

Can a dev respond please?

It may come in the future, however, even if we did it:

This would never hold. You would need to have the game running somewhere so people can join.

Not without it costing them money, no.

Could we, at least, be able to take our saved file and send it to a friend so he can host the game when the person who hosted it first isn't able to do so for a while?

If they ever have something similar to Minecraft Realms I would buy it in a heartbeat for my friends and I.

You already can. Just make sure you push your local files to Steam Cloud when it prompts you, and not the other way around.

Most likely in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(steam user ID\673950\remote\Farms".

@no steppy - Wow for real, thanks! Do you happen to know a site where i could see the whole procedure step by steps? I dont want to mess this up.. ^^'

I don't know about a website, but this is the general workflow:

  1. You host the game and play with your boys.
  2. When you're done for the night, navigate to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(steam user ID\673950\remote\Farms". That's the default location for your farm saves.
  3. Pick whichever farm you want to share and post it in a discord or something with your friends. If you've got a bunch of farms, it can be tricky. They are numbered based on when they were created.
  4. Have you friend put that farm save into their saves folder on their computer. Make sure they don't overwrite one of their farms though; if your shared farm is farm_3, it will overwrite whatever their farm_3 is, if they have one.
  5. They host and play on it, then pass the updated save back to you.

When you boot up Farm Together with the updated save in your Farms folder, it will most likely say the files do not match what is on Steam Cloud. You'll only have two options, so just click the one that uploads your save, not download the old save.
