Explain stands for me please

I'm putting them in and seeing my inventory levels go up etc. but I have no idea why I want them or what they're even for.

I get cash harvesting directly and diamonds if I use the stands. Is that how they're supposed to work?

Each stand needs something .. like the fruit stand/s need fruit, vegie stands need vegies etc and so on .... As you level up you can upgrade certain stands to some thing that will take more - like for eg - milk stand to a milk truck i believe .. and the vegie stand to a vegie truck .... etc.

OK. But where does a milk or veggie' truck etc. get used? Why would I need one? Is there a market later on?

no market jst much lagre storage and bulk sell example veg stand is sell 20 storegae is+40 if i rember while a veg truck is sell 250 at a time and storage incrase of +500

The stands basically let you "sell" your produce for diamonds - so the stands collect the resources and then you interact with them to exchange those resources for diamonds.

The upgraded ones hold more resources (possibly also give more diamonds, but I'm not sure as I've not checked)

There are also other buildings like the silo, which seems to let you exchange money for the resources. I never need to do that as I'm always running out of money and I didn't realise that is what they were doing until I wasted a heap of money :P But those also increase the number you can store. So you can place them but don't interact with them if you don't want to waste your coins - just use them for extra storage.
