the game does not start

which makes no sense as my connection is up and running.

I'm playing from Steam, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but nothing.

I don't have any other active programs that can conflict.

I tried to start the game from the folder and not from steam ... it works.

this absurd error on the connection only if I start it from steam ... mystery.

I've seen this before, your router just doesn't like connecting to servers through external clients like steam, hence why I said it's an internet issue. Good you got it to work


Using a VPN might help if a similar thing happens in the future, switching servers ingame or through your router could also help.
