flight controls with an xbox controller?
im playing with a controller and I cant seem to get any rudder controls(e and q on keyboard)
Im thinking of remapping the shoulder buttons(L1 and R1) to control rudder but they are currently mapped to change control mode however I dont notice any change when i press them
cant anyone explain what they actually do?

I'm using an XBox controller. So far the updates keep getting better at controlling the plane. VTol is nice, but I still find it hard to "drive" in airplane mode.

Let's say flying at 250-350 speed airplane mode and trying to change directions a few degrees it is somewhat hard without access to Yaw.

Trying to change the direction more than a few degrees requires you to do a maneuver. Pitch down, then roll a certain amount and then pitch up till satisfied. While this is true according to dynamics it is hard to do this on controller. The controller settings is not sensitive? enough.

It is hard to roll that certain amount even if you know how much you want to roll. I think we probably need a separate sensitivity for roll in VTol mode and for roll in airplane mode. Feeling the VTol mode is alright, leave only to tune the airplane mode.

ps: i'm not that huge a fan to buy a special controller (hotas), xbox controller has plenty of buttons and axes, it's just the sensitivity of the small sticks has to be different than a huge stick on hotas.
Settings > Control
In "Categories: Flight" there is "Enable control mode 1" and "Enable control mode 2". It seems to be connected to "Categories: Actions mode 1" and "Categories: Actions mode 2".

Having default keybindings of control mode 1 bound to Left Shoulder button.

1. I can not bind combination of Left Shoulder with Right Stick X-axis to "VTOL strafe" in "Categories: Flight" or to "Roll for VTOL and airplane".

2. Although there is no button specified in the colums for "VTOL strafe" , the plane can and will strafe with button combination Left Shoulder and Right Stick X-axis :)

3. Missing "VTOL strafe" and "Yaw in airplane" in the "Categories: Actions mode1" or mode 2.
The game seems to use "VTOL strafe" in this combination, but there is no column in settings. Just camera?

thanks for the info
Hold the Right Shoulder button and then use the Right Stick to get Yaw control. Works like a charm
