I've always wanted to play Sugar Rush from Wreck-it Ralph, and this is the closest I've ever been.

Worth it.

My 5 year old daughter really loves this game. It's slick and fun for her.

My feedback for improvements:
- The UI is not that intuative for a 5 year old (not your target market i know) but removing a few of the are you sure and confirmation prompts would go a long way to improving the experience.
- The ability for her to catch up vs the AI racers is very hard making the experience less enjoyable. Improving this when the player is very behind would make the game for fun for kids. Some form of rubberbanding. The games difficulty seems fine as she can win sometimes but if she makes a mistake, it's very hard to catch up.

- I feel some of the character animations are over used - specifically thinking of the one when going over a big jump, the character waggles their legs in a funny way. Not that bad but looks silly every time.

Overall the game is great and have really enjoyed it so far.

To the point, ASFR feels shallow.

Yeah, it controls alright and it looks GREAT, but the characters, abilities, and mechanics that are in great racing games like Mario Kart Double Dash or Blur are not present here. There's a weak drift system that can easily be abused, abilities that lack oomph or even discernable effects, characters who don't have faster or slower traits or even special vehicles, and sound that seems to wash things out so that you don't even FEEL like you're going fast, or FEEL like your ability really ruined someone's day.

On abilities, some are pretty useless, while others can single-handedly guarantee you last place. The theme of the game is fruit, yet many of the generic abilities have NOTHING to do with fruit. Again, they feel really weak, and you have no control of aiming them. You can't shoot behind you unless that ability is MADE to shoot behind you. Very limiting. Plus, to use an ability, you need to essentially pick up pips and charge it. That's not bad, but with the lack of payoff for ability EFFECTIVENESS, it feels pointless..

Overall, there really doesn't feel to be a depth to this game. For as amazing as the characters and world looks, that's a shame. The balancing and uniqueness of the characters and abilities needs more work as well. I'll keep playing for sure, but as of now there really isn't much enjoyment in it :/

I want to give this a thumbs up because it's sooooo close to being a good game- graphics, tracks, controls, customization are all well done. But the thing that kills it is the sound. You may not realize how sound can impact a game so much but here it's the lack of engine sounds, getting/using powerups, skidding across corners, etc and even the music are all considerably lacking. It just makes it feel extremely hollow. Unfortunately it also makes it much, much less fun to play.

I can tell a lot of work went into this game; I worry it went into the wrong places. for example: there's a detailed car-customizing option (20+ horn sounds!) and tons of characters to unlock, but the UI looks like it's only half-done, the soundtrack is uninteresting, the death transition isn't complete, the track geometry is hard to read...

I realize this was a project by a small team, but if you want a whacky racer, and don't have a Nintendo system, All-Star Fruit Racing is not the answer. it doesn't look done; it doesn't FEEL good. get one the Sonic racing games, instead. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is excellent, and they're coming out with a new one in late 2018/early 2019.

Not sure what it is, but it just doesn't grab me. The sound design is awful, there is no sense of "gravity" ... of momentum. It's all just very ... bland? I've only played 2 races. The game could get better, but I don't see a reason to continue. I like racing games, but this one just lacks ... something. I like Mario Kart, I like Sonic All Star Racing. Those games are great. This just feels like a knock-off with good intentions, but lacking the ultimate skill to pull it off. With better sound design it would probably be a lot more enjoyable. Artistically it's nice ... but it lacks soul.

I'm not entirely sure why a kart racing game starring fresh fruit exists, but here we are. Despite a title that very much suggests a $3 game created from randomly selected store assets, it actually seems to have had quite a bit of effort put into it. The number of tracks and characters on offer would put most other kart racing games to shame, although the fact that all characters use the same car and customization is purely aesthetic is disappointing. So it's not a lazy game by any means, but is it a good one?

At first, it is actually quite good. The tracks have a lot of variety both in their racing and visual styles. Most impressively, it has a unique power up system where you collect nodes of four different colors and can create power ups by mixing and matching those colors. Some races only spawn a subset of the colors, which can shift individual events to be more about speed or more about attacking opponents. You also have the option of charging up each character's unique super move by filling all four colors and then expending all your energy at once. It's a neat system and other kart racers could certainly learn something from it in terms of giving players more interesting options with their power ups.

Although it's a great idea, issues with the implementation of this system crop up quickly. Some power ups are simply better than others even though they cost less, for example, and I found that it was really only worth pursuing blue and green in order to get boosts. It's possible that I'm wrong about how good the other abilities are, though - since the game doesn't communicate what your abilities are doing off-screen, it's very hard to tell how effective some of the attacks actually are. I didn't bother using my ultimate ability because I couldn't tell if it was doing anything and I could easily have several clearly effective boost power ups for the same effort.

Another major issue, which is one I have with many games in this genre, is that it only really knows how to scale difficulty by having the computer spam you with attacks. It doesn't seem like there's much room to learn to skillfully dodge attacks, and getting hit five times in a row isn't very fun. There is a shield ability you could use in some races to mitigate this, but it isn't very fun to just spam shields and you usually wouldn't be able to collect it rapidly enough to stop the flow of attacks anyway.

The weird balancing and annoying stream of power ups would be tolerable if the game had more variety out of the gate. Like I said before, there are a huge number of tracks and characters, but nearly all of the characters are initially locked and the since many of the tracks take 90 seconds per lap and need five laps, it takes significantly longer to complete a cup in this game than in most other kart racers. Finishing those races at least lets you get to new tracks before too long, but characters are unlocked at a drip feed since to unlock requirements like completing endgame cups or playing for 20 hours. That kind of unlock condition is one thing when you're getting to play as Mewtwo at the end, but leaving the game on overnight is less appealing when the reward is a playable fruit.

Windows 11 beware,game likely will crash around 1 minute in. The easiest workaround that I know of is to basically start the game,hit airplane mode/disconnect your wifi at the intro start,then you can reconnect it at the main menu,developer hasn't fixed it and it's been an issue known to them since at least last year.

That all being said,it wasn't worth the effort searching for a workaround,it's very boring and had no desire to continue after a couple of races.

The best kart game you can find.
If you have ever played and loved CTR or Mario Kart, then this is a must have.

Pros:
-Amazing art style, graphics and hub;
-You can create and personalize your own karts;
-Funny while playing alone, amazing if played with friends;
-Smart AI;
-Tracks are very inspired;
-Power ups are well balanced and there's no blue shell like in mario kart (luckily);
-Low price.
-The in game music is so catchy.

Cons
-Some tracks are just ¼ mile-like, and it's really a pity because they are so cool that you'd like them to be regular tracks instead of a race from point A to point B;

There is one thing missing in this game that makes it difficult to enjoy. It has everything that would make a good cart game except for the sound. The sounds on this game are just wrong. The cars are silent. They all make the same faint humming sound. During the race, all you can hear is the slot machine noise of the pickups. When you launch an attack, there is nothing, no drama. The engines don't add excitement when you get a speed boost, with no sound showing the impact of landing a jump. The music can be set to level 5 and effects to 10 and the music would still overpower the sounds of everything but the slot machine.

When a race is finished, just silence. All that happens is that it shows the finishing position, and the character either cheers or is frustrated. Still, there is no sound to accompany this. It is just so soulless.

There is a good cart game there, and the weapon system is unique. If you can look past the sound, it's not a bad game. However, sound is such a large part of racing games, especially cart games.

The chances of this game being updated are zero. Looking at the developer's current games, I wouldn't expect another one.
