Extra Maps - can you get them into the game as you could with the old one?

Thinking about buying Traffic Giant again for my new Win10 PC. I still have a lot of the maps that other players made and I've seen the editor is still available to download and use under a virtual machine with Windows XP. Is it possible to adapt the game, adding new maps, changing prices or how many people fit into buses etc. to realise a "sandbox-modus" like you could with the old game? How to do that? Same as with the old game? Thank you for answering.

The vehicles.txt file in your maps folder contains all the informations.
2nd column next to the vehicle name is the year whem its available,
3rd column is pessenger capacity,
4th column is attractivity,
5th column is speed,
6th & 7th ???
8th column is the price
other ones ???

I do not know any new map sources in english language.
Map files must be put inside the maps folder, and then in the maps.txt file you have to enter the map name 2 times, like

Harbourtown
Upper and lower letters are important.
