If you could send us a bug report that would definitely help us try to figure out if there are any issues that need to be fixed.
And with all this, hygiene is ♥♥♥♥ (pun intended), and health too.
Hi Aldyn, can you please send us a bug report with save file with your school that has the 'A' cleanliness but the students are still losing hygiene? Students lose hygiene when stepping on non floored tiles, and dirty tiles including litter, poo.piss, and when evaluating cleanliness we count the number of dirty tiles in the school, so ideally your students shouldn't be losing hygiene(and health).
Now, let's assume the floor was initially clean. 1st student to go trough has no problem, everything is clean, but leaves a bit of dirt. 2nd has a bit of dirt, but barely any, but still leaves more. Now skip to # 180. No matter how many janitors you have, no matter how quick they are, they will never be able to clean that up quick enough. But, with enough janitors, you can get all that cleaned up fast enough so that when it is evaluated, it is reported as clean.
So, I think the problem comes from the fact that students are affected by dirt left over by others, and I can see 2 ways of fixing this. First, reduce the effect of dirt on students. While this may be viable, I don't think it'd be a good idea, as that would also mean that areas that are never visited by janitors may have no effect whatsoever. Second, add a delay for the hygiene to start dropping. This delay wouldn't need to be long, maybe 2-3 in-game minutes, just enough for all students to pass, and for janitors to start cleaning.
Initially yes, and I also tough that was the issue, so I put a fence the entire lenght of the sidewalk, except for the main entrance, which leads to one of my yards, which has the gravel flooring. Doing this did delay the problem, but it is still happening. Will see about sending the save file now.
Yeah' we're still trying to balance the student dropouts mechanic, but I'm glad that fixed your school's health and hygiene problem! :D
Hi! Kobe do you have enough sinks or hand sanitizers which are accessible to your students? You can send us a bug report so we can check if this is a bug, since based on your description the students are not complaining anymore yet their hygiene is still going down. Thanks!
I think the problem you're having may be more about the setup of your school than a bug.
First, make sure that your janitors are on routes, except for 2-3 (maybe more, depending on school size). Each route should go to roughly 4 rooms, depending on the room (cafeteria will probably need its own route, for instance). Each route should have at least 2 janitors. The few janitors not on routes will mostly empty trash, and serve as backups for when those on routes go on break.
Second, the ground is your enemy. Any floor tile that your students walk on that ISN'T a tile you placed will reduce their hygiene, same as with dirt. I suggest putting a fence down from the edges of the map, all the way to the building, right by the sidewalk.
Also, keep in mind that if one student gets sick, any students in the same classes have VERY high risks of getting the sickness too. Having many nurses, and lots of beds in the infirmary will help clearing them out quickly, especially if you get the tech that boost recovery (don't recal the name).
