    same time
  • 3) Students' bladder need degrades at the same pace throughout the day with the
exception of them eating/drinking, which makes it degrade more rapidly.
  • 4) Not all students will wait before their bladder is dangerously low before using the toilet
  • 5) Should students be unable to deal with their bladder need before it gets empty - they will
    wet themselves
  • 6) There are buildable vending machines for students to get snacks and drinks - possibly
  • as means for them to deal with hunger when it's not lunch time (an issue with them going
for lunch at the same time was already brought up before)]
- Budgets

- Mobile/Electronic device Policy
- Library books (policies around them for example, some English classes may teach lessons
around To Kill a Mockingbird while others may find it too sensitive)
- School policies for controversial subject matters EG whether to teach evolution, creationism or both. Whether to teach RE from the perspective of a religion or treat all equally. Whether to implement gender-neutral toilets.

  • Gifted program
  • Special Ed program
  • Exchange students
-Door mats! To help prevent all this mud!

- Specific Room Allocations (Certain Years Only)
- Place Lockers Upwards and further back
- Staff room / meeting room
- Valedictorian: Trophy room that has plaque of all prior winners and their grade put avg.
- Stairs/Elevator
- Referral Room - Some schools have this in the UK - Students who misbehave in class go to a special room and have to do their school work in silence (Supervised by a teacher) When I was in school there were a couple of kids who sometimes spent all day here depending on how disruptive they have been. Naturally their "education levels" will progress much slower as they are just reading the books and trying to do it rather than have the help of a teacher.
- Wood shop, Metal shop, Auto shop, Art, Music, Chemistry
- Assembly hall, small meeting rooms for after school clubs or for parents to meet with teachers or the principal.

Subject Request

Staff Requests
[These refer to the staff]
- Staff Needs [+2] (Stress)
- Sport coach/Director of sports [+2]
- Janitors prioritize certain rooms at certain times of day. [+2]
- Janitors need to clean faster, as it is currently unrealistically slow. A school with 300 students required 50 janitors to stay clean, while the school I work at has four people covering 400 students. [+2]
- inspectors [+2] (school inspections)
- night watch staff - who checks on students through night [+1]
- Playground Duty [+1]
- Workers should function as janitors/maintenance when they aren't building. Should be able to increase and decrease pay rates based on skill and productivity.
- Multiple teachers (up to 2 possible) assigned to each classroom [+1]
-More distinguishable nurses uniforms
- cooks will prioritize finding next available crate of food if their current crate is picked up by another cook. [+1]
- School Mascot
- Worker zones (Like RCT)
- SLT (Senior Leadership Team)
- Night Workers (Janitors, Builders)
- night time teacher - in some schools a night teacher who teaches some subjects till late
- Remedial Teachers
- Shift Schedules
- Kitchen staff should be refilling and preparing for lunch regardless of what's left in the servers.
- Tutors

Student/Teacher Trait Suggestions
- Strict / Normal / Lenient personalities. [+1]
So say if there is a rowdy/rude student a strict teacher would give them 1 warning or send them straight to the principal's/counselor's office. Wear as a Lenient teacher would give the student 5 warnings before sending them to the office. [+2]
- Leader (Sometimes in school you'll have good student leaders in Student Government Associations or Sports teams. Other times you have leaders that convince others to slouch or do drugs.) Students follow leaders.
- characterization of the teachers and students
-Characters
- Perhaps put in some characters from famous movies about schools (The Guy from that movie where he goes to a 'backwards' school and helps the kids graduate who were all destined to be low level scum).
- Awareness campaigns
  • Smoking
  • Drugs (Pro's / Con's)
  • Recruiting girls to study more beta classes.
  • Work out more
  • Well, generally motivational speakers / awareness campaigns etc.
  • Sexual education (reduce teen pregnancies)
- jocks (biased towards PE, sports and sport-clubs), nerds (biased towards library/computer lab, math/science), creatives (biased towards art and theater), etc.
- bookworm, violent, social butterfly, insubordinate, BO, overachiever, etc.
- Variety of Teacher traits

Map/World Suggestions
- Weather Effects [+1]
- You could add map restrictions in campaigns (cities have smaller spaces, you might be forced to build in existing buildings, heritage building etc.)
- Varying traffic conditions. (Need for stop-sign patrol)
- Height restrictions on building.
- This might be crazy but what about having "Community" on screen and not just something that invisibly affects your school
Examples:
A mall opens near to your school
Kids like it so much they want to come to school, but only to skip lessons
It fills up the fun meter, but decreases their education.
It adds heaps of cheap parking space, but it also adds traffic
It feeds some of the kids, but your cafeteria is less profitable
- Day/night cycle
- If your students are hooligans it might be bad for business and neighbors. the neighborhood would get damaged, dirty, vandalized and your relationship with the community would take a hit.
- Or maybe you turn out great kids and they help the community and make the neighborhood much nicer.

- The day cycle should be extended to cover the afternoon and evenings, to be used for extracurricular activities for students, and staff training for teachers and employees.
-Add houses for some staff (staff that need to be available on the school quickly like principle, concierge etc)
-In some private school, or if the game want to include like literrally old schools models, boy and girls only schools,
-full thematic university, art school, science university etc.

System Suggestions
[These suggestions are for systems.]

- Please enable right click + select to delete our planning/ Placement (the same way Prison Architects do). [+4]
- Bus System (Schedules, Stops) [+3]
- School House System
- Defining which subject a teacher/classroom combo will follow instead of going jack of all trades, Specialized room, [+3]]
- Ability to include and not include stuff in game [+2]
- Scholarships [+1]
- Foreign Exchange: A system where students can volunteer to go on foreign exchange to other countries. (Vice versa) [+1]
Ability to choose food menu items[+1]
- Student Relationships [+1]
-reason why students are ill and what can be done.
-ability to highlight students for instance so Monitors keep a better eye on them or they get extra help...
- Wall and Planning tools should draw rectangles
- Different school types/Grade levels (Elementary, High, College, In-Partnership: Ex: Elementary
And High school in one)
- Student's backgrounds: wealth, race, religion, IQ, parent's political views, etc.
- Drug Issues
- student list that shows us their grades, actions
- A report of the lessons
- Student Types

[/list]
-Food fight in cafeteria
- School shooting
- School held hostage
- Depressed Teachers / overwork
- Having a 'average grade' needed for school
- School that is either in a high-income district, or caters purely to lower income (black, Latino etc.).
- Teen Pregnancies?
- Student politics (both cliquish and electoral)
- Cliques (Student rivalries (emo/jock)
- More depth/Content
- Penalties for failure to graduate
- Better Worker Speed
- Students arrive with needs filled
- Students get stuck in the classrooms until dismissal when their bladder need is low but there are neither restrooms nor bushes available.
- Summer School
- Cram school lessons
- Catchment area affecting freshmen numbers.
- Maybe you could add realistic "years" to the game in a campaign-mode. (finding it hard to explain this idea)
Maybe have certain technologies only unlocking on certain levels, like one level is set in 1990 and all there was is blackboards, textbooks and note-passing. A few levels later you in 2017 and have projectors, laptops, cellphones, fidget spinners and 1000 other distractions.
- Students doing cleanup [+1]
- Students prioritize finding the next nearest seat at lunch if the current seat they went to is already occupied.
- Teachers Teach in Different Rooms
- Students to priorities eating during lunch when hunger bar is lower than...maybe 50% instead of going to clubs/funs. This will help with reduce the number of students who starve during the day and eat after dismissal instead or become sick the next day.
- School trip at the end of school year
- After exam day, have a free day before end of school year
- Early dismissal/ Staff day
- Sorting students into different classes e.g (High to low)
- Tutoring

Event/Activity Related Suggestions
- Parent Teacher Meetings [+3]
- Fundraising events [+2]
- School Trips [+2]
- Sports Day / special event days [+2]
- Graduation Events [+1]
- Special Events [+1]
    - Activities
  • School plays (Ability to direct them?) [+1]
  • School tournaments vs other schools (Football, Basketball, American Football etc.). [+1]
  • Class/School president
  • Invite famous people if you have a superhigh class school (I mean privities out of private
    schools)
- Toilet Passes ( Students can ask to go to the toilet during class if they need to. (Might help get rid of the horrible every student needs to use the toilet at recess bug) - You could add this in so they dont get stopped by monitors. Allows you to also add in a new bad behaviour, kids trying to skip class.)

UI Suggestions
- Object Stats (When you click on an object icon to put it on map, a description pops up, but it's kind of basic. What I'd like to know is, for example, how does the water fountain affect (hygiene? food needs?)? ) [+3]
- Fill to capacity option for transfers/ Available student capacity [+3]
- Tooltip (Can be zone edit) To show how many students a room can hold, and how many seats are taken. [Ref: http://i.imgur.com/JsomMfi.jpg] [+2]
- Tooltip to explain why students are failing subjects [+2]
- -Blueprints and clone tools for different rooms. Save our own blueprints. For future schools. [+2]
- 30 day calendar [+1]
- Dismantle Objects [+1]
- Resize Zones [+1]
- Clear All Routes
-A way to see the effect of an item on students, cleanliness etc. If just aesthetic it seems a little pointless
-a range indicator... On rooms or items depending how far students will go to get to a water fountain for instance are there enough toilets? Close enough to all classrooms?
-the routing is great but once in a room Do they do the whole room?
- Staff/Student UI system like Prisoner/Staff UI in PA
- Zone UI, Kitchen and Cafeteria next to each other
- Move screen with mouse (Dual panning)
- Hygiene Map

Thank you! have updated list!

Just a note on the library books. I was thinking more along policies in terms of what schools will have on hand, both in the library and the curriculum in the classrooms. For example, some English classes may teach lessons around To Kill a Mockingbird while others may find it too sensitive. The same goes with what is stocked in libraries. I recall something years ago where Harry Potter books were burned for being heresy within the community.

I'm not sure if the Devs wanted to be that granular with books but policies around them would make sense in a game such as this.

Thank you for clarifying, I have added the example to the list :)
And yes, I do agree, It would add some more depth for sure!
A tooltip (mouseover when you are in "Zone edit" or something ?) to tell how many students the room can have and how many seats are taken ?

I might have chosen my words poorly so I added a screenshot with what I had in mind (warning: professional paint user here)

Each student having a different schedule. For instance one student can have their lunch during fourth period, and having different classes during their other periods while another student's lunch might be fifth period. That way not all students are going to the same place at the same time, and your cafeteria won't be overloaded with students trying to eat.

Bullying should definitely be in the game.
lightspeed Sep 8, 2017 @ 10:47am
Kids today sure love their mobile devices, so maybe including policies that ban all those would make the kids more angrier but eventually lead to more concentration on the classes.
I think it would be nice if the student uniforms were customizable... maybe make them the same two colours you choose for your schools emblem in the beginning?

I really just love anything in these kinds of games that make it feel more customizable, I adore that the game has come with some different walls and I would love to see more floor tiles as well

  • Editing schedules (per staff category / per student years)
  • Check staff needs / skills when clicking on them, like students, instead of only having the option to fire them
  • Defining which subject a teacher/classroom combo will follow instead of going jack of all trades
  • Defining cafeterias as staff-only or student-only
  • Fraternities / Sororities

More things for the students to do:

. Playground
. Gym
. Sports pitch
. Homework (helps grades)
. Pranks
. Specialised teachers i.e Gym, Science, English (late game)
. Detention
. Segregating bullys
. Special students. (may need more one to one with teacher)

A few idea after maybe an hour with the game (apologies if any have already been suggested):

Playgrounds, including both a generic yard area and also specific activities EG a football pitch, a basketball court, whatever else schools have these days (it's been a long time since I left).

Assigning specific teacher/subject/room combinations. Rather than each class having the same teacher in the same room every lesson, be able to have teachers and rooms for each subject, so if lesson 1 is maths, they go to the maths teacher's classroom, and then for history they'd go to the history teacher's classroom, etc.

This would fit nicely with a need for scheduling (which is a pretty basic must for a school sim IMO) in order to ensure that teachers are idle as infrequently as possible, and also to ensure that teacher's aren't double-booked for any given period.

Editable uniforms. Not necessarily the details, just the colours and maybe whether or not they wear caps.

Editable names for students and teachers. Some people might find the game more engrossing if they can RP their school as being in a particular place, and therefore might want to give character's names believable for that environment. Plus, as with virtually any game like this, some of the default names are rather questionable (or maybe I'm just boring).

Headmaster/principal/whatever you call it where you are. They could have different skills/traits, the level of which affects various aspects of the school's functionality. For example a disciplinarian could ensure kids get to their lessons on time and don't litter in the cafeteria, but reduce their mood slightly. Maybe they could have a trait that focuses on a prticular subject, raising every student's performance in that subject area while slightly decreasing performance in other subjects.

Cliques, gangs, etc.

Student personalities and career aspirations. These could affect which subject each student tends to do well in, as well as which cliques they're likely to join.

School policies for controversial subject matters EG whether to teach evolution, creationism or both. Whether to teach RE from the perspective of a particular religion or treat all equally. Whether to implement gender-neutral toilets.

Student's backgrounds: wealth, race, religion, IQ, parent's political views, etc. - All these things can have a massive impact both on how the student and their parent's react to the school's policies, and how well the student settles in and performs, how likely they are to makle friends, get bullied, etc.

That'll do for now. I'm sure I'll have more idea as I continue to play.

For the more violent of us, maybe add threats like active shooters or bomb threats. Forcing lockdowns or emergency drills of the school. Then you can have fire drills, and for the pranksters of the school they can pull the alarm and force the fire department to respond. If it turns out to be a false alarm then you get docked a certain amount of money or something. It would force us to use security wisely and hand out punishments.
LeChatMG Sep 8, 2017 @ 1:51pm
Forgot to add: a move option for objects.
Lyssa Sep 8, 2017 @ 6:44pm
Worker zones. Think Roller Coaster Tycoon and such. My janitors run in packs.
Alundra (Alunny) Sep 8, 2017 @ 6:59pm
I prefer to post feature requests in their own threads, it lets people discuss them and they don't get lost in a massive thread.
Zarrakis Sep 8, 2017 @ 7:25pm
Here's a few ideas:
- Upgrades for rooms, (i.e. chalkboard upgrades to whiteboard, upgrades to touchscreen).
- Day/night cycle (night cycle can have theives or kids grafitti- need security)
- Yard to play in (i.e. does same job as club but outside but kids can do gym/sport class outside)
- Bus stop for kids to arrive to schoo outside front door. Car Park for kids with cars (senior year)
- Events (Prom, spelling bee, etc)
- Prioritise jobs (i.e. Janitor 1 should mop floors, Janitor 2 to clean bins)
- Ability to have different wall types on either side (i.e. brick on one side and red on the other).
Kitty Sep 8, 2017 @ 8:46pm
I would like more floor types. More variety in icons for the school symbol, including maybe the option to have a singular icon displaying the school mascot. The option for a school mascot, along with varsity sports. More diversity in clubs, class schedules, the ability to designate homerooms, specialist teachers, assigning specific classes to classrooms.

More labs like chemistry lab, biology lab, etc.

Gymnasium and the addition of PE classes. Excersize equpment, sports fields, the ability to designate classrooms as study halls. Detention.
