Support is my class with the most kills, and I have 2 claymore kills total.
It seems people were playing the class wrong and now they don't want to touch it now that it's unintended role as mine layer is gone. Those ammo packs weren't just for you to resupply mines guys.
You know, funny thing is most classes do building camp, and again lets not forget snipers that camp in their own bases, not being productive for the teams they were on. And support class wasn't the only ones building camping, I get tired of any maps that are heavy building focus since most people just want to stay in them and another fact, claymores go with all classes and support isn't limited to '8' claymores even then. Ammo box = refill amount x number of ammo boxes = a larger number than 8 not factoring in refill drops from squad points.
The good Support players actually put claymores in hidden areas around an objective, that was where the spamming trend was going, hiding them was the meta and when enemies rush in they get blown up which is more than deserved. If you are not watching where you going, you deserved to get Claymore killed.
The only people crying about it are those that can't open their eyes to see a claymore. Even I can see them on maps with tall grass and I never once died to a claymore inside a building.
To be honest, claymore trapping is a more entertaining role as support. I don't like grenade spam, I rather be setting boobytraps. Now the only thing for support is c4/grenade spam. Hurray. Such an amazing class with its limited four weapons. /sarcasm
Furthermore, most teammates hardly use ammo packs, even when I drop them. I may get a few resupply points vs the number of points I can get running medic by healing and reviving people. Support is seriously shafted and probably falls just as useful as Engineer at this point. At least Engineers are more useful in Conquest maps with repair and destruction against vehicles so Support just slightly makes it above Assault class at this point.
Support is meant to support, laying down traps as a defensive measure is a form of supporting, there's a reason why support builds cover faster than any other class. You're allowed to play the class however you want, that's in large part the fun of this pretty casual game, however If we're saying there's a "wrong" way to play a class then it would be you that is playing Support wrong.
Tell everyone that you rely on claymores for kills without telling everyone that rely you on claymores for kills. A max cap shouldn't hinder your playstyle unless you're solely relying on claymores (which you are if you haven't figured out the sarcastic remark by now).
It's a good change. This ain't mine sweeper.
They're working on 4 new MGs for Support according to the wiki's "upcoming guns said to eventually be added by the devs" section of the weapons page
Ah, that is good then. Personally, I believe support should get some rifles or something else. I mean, it doesn't even make sense how the medic class has access to four(?) different weapon types. Rifles, Carbines, PDWs, and SMGs?
How is someone dropping Claymores single handily controlling the map?
