THIS!!
I hope BBR goes in the direction of BF1942 with aircraft carriers, battleships, subs, artillery, etc.
The spotting feature for artillery and ships was effing amazing in bf1942.
Simple concepts that gaming has forgotten for some reason.
Back in the old days I would kamikaze my plane into an aircraft carrier, bail out at the last minute, lay mines all over the deck, watch planes spawn and run into said mines, then harass the ♥♥♥♥ out of everyone on board until I am killed. Now? That would be totally off limits.
Really my hope for this game is BBR1942. A WWII battlebit modeled after battlefield 1942. One can only hope.
I feel like they will backtrack on that rule eventually. This is the kind of game that makes players hungry for more depth. They could do the Titanfall thing and have five or six players on each side supported by AI craft guided by human commanders. Is the Russian commander ordering an airstrike or bombing run? US AI interceptors with Human piloted fighter support can be ordered to intercept. Guys on the ground with AA weapons would have no shortage of targets, but must choose between the AI or human targets. AI can't target ground, but they will always target the critical air units. Human targets can go after ground targets, but without support the friendly AI craft will get shot down.
By keeping players in aircraft busy between AI craft and human ground targets, the game would prevent people in the air from just dominating everything else.
