It's very unreliable and often leads to the game crashing, so I have it switched off for Battlebit.

so toggling overlay worked for the first few days, since then seems allowing desktop capture is the only way to get it to work for me

If shadowplay isn't recording at all, go into Nvidia control panel and add battlebit to the graphics list.

when you say "add battlebit to the graphics list" do you mean add it as a program in "manage 3d settings" ?

In your Geforce Experience in game overlay go to the settings cog then find Privacy Control and enable Desktop Capture in there.

This is what fixed it for me and allowed me to save shadowplay clips.

it works just wont show you that it recorded, for example I used instant replay and click my hot key for capture it doesn't show saying it was saved but the video is on my desktop

Adding Battlebit to the 3D settings has fixed the issue for me, thank you.
