BattleBit Remastered

BattleBit Remastered

What happened to Battlebit?
I remember close to a year ago I think this game came out, I was jamming it for like 2 months straight and it was so much fun. I had to stop gaming for work-related reasons and stuff, but recently jumped back on and it doesn't feel the same anymore, am I tripping? Or has something weird happened to this game? Like the servers are wonky and idk the player count seems awfully low in my region.

Yeah, you hate to see it... I had the most fun I've ever had in a multiplayer shooter here and it just couldn't last. The same thing is happening to helldivers 2 as well. I just don't know how devs can overcome the cycle of falling off COD can ignore for some reason

game was fun because people were just having casual fun. now, majority of players like 80% are clan sweats who would break their setup if you kill them. also, back when the game got released people didn't pay attention to censorship & what not until they started getting banned. that made people either leave the game, or return & remain quite.

overall the fall off of this game should be studied thoroughly by upcoming game devs

Damn dude. I didn't realise the game was like this, I thought it might've been like, the devs fixing up some bugs hence low players or something.

Part of it is that it's no longer new and novel to you and part of it is that there have been changes made. Very few games can retain a majority of their players and ones that can have large, well funded dev teams constantly putting out content. Something new is always coming out and people move on to new games. As long as you can find servers and you're having fun, that's all that matters.

One major problem is, that the game has too many modes, spreading the low playercount across too many modes with too many servers.
They need to refocus and concentrate the count to a few servers and basically one mode and one server count.

Rework the maps and how they work so they become dynamic.
If a server starts at 20v20, start the match on the small version of the map, once the count on the server reached a threshold, expand the battlefield, up to a max count and max size.
This would avoid small counts on larger servers and large maps with barely any action.
It starts focussed and expands scale with playercount.

Add singleplayer or coop capabilities, at best have bots that fill the servers and get replaced by players.
That way it doesnt matter, people can join and have fun with bots, until more do the same and jump in.

Unlock weapons or drastically speed up progression.
I played it a lot but never unlocked some weapons i would like to play, im still forced to play weapons i dislike.
This discourages people playing the game.
Dont need grind, need fun. Options are fun.

Automate server capacity. Disable servers, enable them once other servers are full.
This prevents showing a ton of empty servers and wasting resources.
Once a server reaches a certain playercount, half the players automatically gets migrated after match end to a new server.
This prevents waiting time for servers with high playercount and at the same time opens up servers in a dynamic way.
Connected with the above changes, this would keep the economy running.

Work on servers and netcode, to make sure that lags and mixed servers (people from different regions) dont notice it too much.
Especially with a dynamic server activation, the game could open servers or migrate in a way, that most players on a server have the best connection they could have.
Aka if 40 people are on a server and 20 are from the US and 20 from EU it opens a server giving them the best connection as a compromise.

With such changes it has a chance and low playercounts dont weight in too much.
It would maintain fun with a low player count, basically 1000 people would be enough.

Top Move:
Make it free to play too with a fair price model (maybe only Assault Class), promote it with an announcement together with a big update.

I had a LOT of fun with this game a few months ago; havent been on in quite a while. Other responses were probably accurate about back then people were just having fun. It was fun but I could see a bunch of sweats ruining it. They do the same thing to Planetside 2 when they show up - and they seek out easy to win fights against small numbers of unorganized players to feed their ego.

Dude it honestly sucks. This game had actually and I am not joking, it brought me back into gaming. It was so simple but so good and well made. It felt better than Battlefield, COD, and all the other mainstream shooters. Sad it could not last.
Censorship from the devs did in the proximity chat. No one is being absurd anymore. It's either sweats or people blasting music now.

You need updates to not get bored?

there are 22 maps. dozens of weapons. a good handful of gamemodes.

WHAT UPDATES DO YOU WANT? blue-purple-white striped bullets?

If lack of updates is the problem, why do people still play BF4? Hell my friend was playing MoHAA online up until like 2015 or something.

The "gimme new content always and forever" billshut is what has led to dinosaurskins being in Cowadaddy.
No.
F off, no.

It died
The safest guesses are that the game lost its novelty and new pvp FPS games are constantly coming out. People can cry about censorship or whatever, but that's just them un/consciously letting ideological baggage influence their critical thinking, which is an inescapable part of online discourse about games in general now. Shout-out to culture wars 2.0 and the people who participate in it, despite claiming to hate it. As an adult, if I'm not into a film, movie, game, etc, I don't think about, nor pay it any mind. Outrageous concept, I know.
