overall the fall off of this game should be studied thoroughly by upcoming game devs
Damn dude. I didn't realise the game was like this, I thought it might've been like, the devs fixing up some bugs hence low players or something.
They need to refocus and concentrate the count to a few servers and basically one mode and one server count.
Rework the maps and how they work so they become dynamic.
If a server starts at 20v20, start the match on the small version of the map, once the count on the server reached a threshold, expand the battlefield, up to a max count and max size.
This would avoid small counts on larger servers and large maps with barely any action.
It starts focussed and expands scale with playercount.
Add singleplayer or coop capabilities, at best have bots that fill the servers and get replaced by players.
That way it doesnt matter, people can join and have fun with bots, until more do the same and jump in.
Unlock weapons or drastically speed up progression.
I played it a lot but never unlocked some weapons i would like to play, im still forced to play weapons i dislike.
This discourages people playing the game.
Dont need grind, need fun. Options are fun.
Automate server capacity. Disable servers, enable them once other servers are full.
This prevents showing a ton of empty servers and wasting resources.
Once a server reaches a certain playercount, half the players automatically gets migrated after match end to a new server.
This prevents waiting time for servers with high playercount and at the same time opens up servers in a dynamic way.
Connected with the above changes, this would keep the economy running.
Work on servers and netcode, to make sure that lags and mixed servers (people from different regions) dont notice it too much.
Especially with a dynamic server activation, the game could open servers or migrate in a way, that most players on a server have the best connection they could have.
Aka if 40 people are on a server and 20 are from the US and 20 from EU it opens a server giving them the best connection as a compromise.
With such changes it has a chance and low playercounts dont weight in too much.
It would maintain fun with a low player count, basically 1000 people would be enough.
Top Move:
Make it free to play too with a fair price model (maybe only Assault Class), promote it with an announcement together with a big update.
Dude it honestly sucks. This game had actually and I am not joking, it brought me back into gaming. It was so simple but so good and well made. It felt better than Battlefield, COD, and all the other mainstream shooters. Sad it could not last.
there are 22 maps. dozens of weapons. a good handful of gamemodes.
WHAT UPDATES DO YOU WANT? blue-purple-white striped bullets?
If lack of updates is the problem, why do people still play BF4? Hell my friend was playing MoHAA online up until like 2015 or something.
The "gimme new content always and forever" billshut is what has led to dinosaurskins being in Cowadaddy.
No.
F off, no.
