SMGs will still be damn solid at CQC but, just won't perform better than an AR at it's intended range as much. If anything it's just a bullet penalty requiring one to have to restock more if that's even a concern. It's incentive to actually play other weapons aside from SMGs. I'm not sure how out of the blue it is when there were so many people concerned about SMGs outperforming ARs at their optimal use range.
Outrage for the sake of outrage, without even testing the performance and impact once said nerfs take place seems kinda linear minded don't you think? You can still play the game before they go into effect so the performative post about quitting now doesn't accomplish much. You are very much within your right to stop playing the game though. Why did you feel the need to complain about it without even trying it? I get it, nerfs feel bad, but there are more concerning imbalances in the game aside from "oh noes my smg meta". If anything everyone just running around with SMGs gets kinda stale.
You are well within your right to complain, just as the devs are allowed to do what they want with their game? If it's a bad idea then the players will stop playing and the game will die, then the miserable doomsayers imposing their malcontent with something can have their 15 seconds of cerebral chemical validation before going back to imposing misery onto something else. Damage aside from the the UMP is untouched. If you are talking about the damage fall off at range yes there is a potential "DPS loss" at the exceeded ranges. If you are trying to dual an AR at their optimal range they may win more? Should you just be able to run SMG with no sort of trade off?
People running ARs or DMRs, or even the rare CQC psychopath Snipers have to deal with SMGs when in SMGs effect range and lose out at times. To say that SMGs should have no trouble outside of a logical effective range for their intended role comes off as only thinking about your enjoyment, lets not pretend you care about other SMG users.
I dunno, at the end of the day it's just a game and there will be changes good and bad, but it's that much of an issue you can always play a different game. Just ignore the sunken cost fallacy and innate sense of ownership of a game that is moving a different direction than what you want. It's perfectly fine to say "this ain't for me" and move on. You didn't even need to make this post honestly. If you stopped playing and others that aren't a fan stop then "the message" is delivered to the devs.
These kinda posts accomplish nothing else but screaming into the ether and dumping negativity because one can. I'm sure my post falls into that criteria as well. Now where are we? In a circle jerk that accomplishes nothing. So play the game or don't. I'm sure you can find something that is right up your alley and checks all the boxes.
"now I'm starting to believe devs arw on milsim type and killing this game for semi casual gamers, thank you devs for making the game more flopped".
I feel is not a good faith opener to spark constructive discussion exchange. You haven't even elaborated as to why you feel the changes are bad, to even offer up your experience as a player playing SMGs. You made a summary neg dump without any real feedback. You brought nothing to the table like, suggestions to buff other weapons to make SMGs not feel as OP would've been a solid suggestion, but you didn't take that route.
If anything I would've appreciated if you had done so instead of getting caught up in feelings and trying to go for a dunk stating it'd "make the game more flopped". I supposed a discussion would still be had but it wouldn't be of a net positive contribution.
