BattleBit Remastered

BattleBit Remastered

My microphone doesn't work in game
Hi boys! I've just bought the game recently and I'm having a problem.
In the beta and open tests my microphone would've worked perfectly but now it just doesn't work
I've give permission to battlebit to use my microphone, checked the settings 2 3 times to see if my microphone is really being used by the game, everywhere i go to check my microphone is working, only in battlebit that it doesn't work, somebody know what i can do to fix this?

Try increasing chatsize or using another channel?

Sometimes there's a specific SIP setting you enable in your router to use some version of VOIP which is commonly packaged in these kinds of games - also try checking that?

Bumping this. I can hear myself through the test microphone function in the options but nobody can hear me in game.

I too have this problem. I have several different mics and they all work everywhere else flawlessly but BattleBit simply refuses to pick up anything from my Blue Yeti. What kind of mic does everyone have?

Oh, BTW, I just learned that you have to click Apply when you change the audio device before "Test Your Microphone" will use that device.

That is an unintuitive way to test the microphone. Thanks for the help it fixed the problem.

Personally I use the webcam mic when I'm feeling lazy and a XLR mic hooked up to an audio mixer. I pass through the microphone audio to Nvidia Broadcast for background noise suppression.

Ok, I can give it a try. I don't have any mic issues in this game, so it will be hard for me to actually troubleshoot the problem. But we can check/try a few things.

https://steamcommunity.com/id/FryinHard/screenshot/2020478008801375393/

I just took this screenshot, and while you will see that I have opt-in voice chat and death microphone unchecked... you will want to make sure those are checked. Along with the volume options below, you will want to make sure they are all at 100, at least. I know mine are on 0, but that is because I turned off voip.

So if I was you, the first thing I would do is try the test your microphone setting after making sure your Microphone Device option is set to your default microphone or whatever mic you want to use that is connected to your computer. I just did this myself, with all the settings you see in my screenshot and I heard myself.

So I would try that first. If you don't hear yourself, try raising the Mic Volume option, under test your microphone, up higher. I put mine all the way up to 500 and it wasn't all that loud. So during your test, if you don't hear yourself at 100, try raising it all the way up and see what happens.

If you don't hear yourself at all, go to your taskbar and right click one of the speakers to open audio devices. Just get to audio devices. It should be a small window that has 4 tabs in it: Playback, Recording, Sounds, and Communications.

Once you are in this audio devices / sound window click on the Recording tab. You will see your microphones, Stereo Mix, Digital-in, What U Hear, etc in there. Now while you are looking at these devices try speaking into your microphone and see if the bars on the right of the options activate / light up with you speaking. You should see something indicating that the sound is being captured by the recording device.

If you don't then that's an issue, and you might want to right click on the microphone you think should be working and go into the properties of the microphone. Try raising the Microphone level and also maybe raise up the Microphone Boost option. For reference, I have mine set to 47 on the microphone level and I have a +30.0 dB boost on the Microphone Boost.

Then once you raised up the microphone levels, go back to the game and try again.

If you still don't hear anything... this is where I will start to run out of options. But I would say go back to the Audio Devices and in the recording tab, find what microphone option does react to your voice when you are speaking into the mic. Make sure that is the same option that is selected in the BattleBit settings menu.

I only have 3 options in the BattleBit settings menu for Microphone devices - Microphone(this is my system default), What U Hear, and Digital-In. I would suggest picking another option, that isn't the microphone device you want to use, and just hitting apply. Then change it back to the default Microphone device you want the game to use and hit apply again. This way, the game knows for sure what device you are trying to use.

If none of that works, and your microphone still doesn't work in this game and this game only while working outside of the game in other applications... then that is kind of screwed up. I would suggest trying to check the integrity of the game files through steam. I think you do that from your library. Make Steam check file integrity for battlebit.

** EDIT: I just checked, and yes. In your library, right click on battlebit, go to properties, then go to installed files and there should be an option to "verify integrity of game files". Do that and try the test your microphone option again in battlebit settings before trying the below stuff. You will probably have to research what the registry entries for battlebit are. Also, editing your registry is something you should do at your own risk. Just sayin.
**

I would say, uninstall and reinstall... but the settings are most likely saved and will just come right back... so maybe uninstall and then navigate to the battlebit install folder and just delete everything there. Maybe even find any registry entries associated with battlebit in your registry and delete those entries, then reinstall.

At this point, I would be totally out of options to try. Good luck.
Raising the Volume of the mic work for me, thank you

I have came to the conclusion that I will never be able to talk to people in the game because i have been troubleshooting for weeks and absolutely nothing has worked. It is simply a problem with Battlebit and nothing to do with my mic or computer.

I love this game but it takes a very large portion of fun out of it when you cant interact in the hilarious situations you get into. Hopefully this gets fixed soon or my time as a Battlebit player will come to an end unfortunately...

*IMPORTANT* My mic works when i die for around 1 to 2 seconds and then cuts off and to the left of my name it says " RU-B " when it picks up my voice for those 2 seconds, so if anyone recognizes this and knows what it means or how to fix it please let me know.

For now however, i will forever be a mute of Battlebit as if my mouth is sewn shut. Only to hear my teammates cries and not be able to comfort them as i drag them to safety. Please BB developers, for the sake of not just me.. but my teammates, see this thread and FIX THIS ISSUE.

RU-B is just the team you are in Battlebit, and same, takes insane amount of fun out of the game.

So I was looking into my privacy settings in windows and saw that my mic was last used since july 2023 (very weird). Then I looked where it opened Battlebit from and went there (D:\SteamLibrary\Steam\steamapps\common\BattleBit Remastered). Instead of running the normal 'Battlebit.exe', i ran the EasyAntiCheat.exe. It should start the normal game, go to test microphone and press your butten then it should work! Idk why it works this way but hey, have fun.

Where can I see where windows opens the .exe from?

Go to your library on steam -> right click on battlebits -> 'manage' -> Browse local files -> then just double click on the EasyAntiCheat.exe. Keep in mind you always run the game like this if you want your mic working.
