how can i turn off my voice chat?

possibly dumb question but i'd like to make it so im muted and no one can hear me in voice chat, not turn off voice chat all together, i cant seem to find the setting that would do that, if someone could please humor me and show me how to turn it off, that would be greatly appreciated.

I thought it was turned off when I declined them recording my voice but them I somehow talked in game. I just turned my mic volume all the way down and it hasn't popped up in game.

they worded that incredibly wrong, i thought that meant opt out of ALL voice chat and death messages, not just stopping my own.

it does opt out of everything.
If you only wanna mute your mic, just mute your mic. If you can't mute your mic with a switch, change the device in the audio settings ingame and/or lower your voice chat volume.
I personally don't talk 24/7 while ingame but it's nice to be able to ask for ammo or medic or vehicle etc.
The chaos can be too much sometimes tho, especially in the beginning of a 128v128 round.

i meant like, i thought it opts out of me being able to hear other peoples VC, i assume it doesnt do that because i heard people after i turned it off.
