BattleBit Remastered

BattleBit Remastered

Good Specs, Low Framerate, [Potential fix]
My current specs are:
- I7-11700KF @ 4.8GHz
- RTX 2080
- 32GB 4x8 3000MHz DDR4 RAM

I had been getting terrible FPS (I'm talking 10-30 FPS with horrible frame-drops) since I bought the game a week ago. I saw a few other people having the same issue with Great Hardware but terrible FPS and no resolution...

But I think I got it to a reasonably playable level. Here is what I did:
0. (obviously update your drivers etc.)

1. Ran the game once with the Reinstall/Repair EasyAntiCheat option via steam.

2. (This is the fix I think) Reinstalled the Microsoft Visual Studio Redistributables[learn.microsoft.com]. Scroll down a bit in the link and make sure you download & install both the x86 and x64 versions. When I ran the installers for each, I had the option to Repair or Remove, I chose Repair. After repairing both I restarted my PC as they instruct.

3. I set my in-game FPS Limit to 1200, then locked it to 75FPS with an external application. My reason for this is I still get big frame drops If I try to push for 150FPS like I want to. I prefer a lower but consistent FPS, as long as its still smooth. (75FPS Is the sweet spot, trust) I personally use RivaTuner from Guru3D to lock my FPS. But the NCP(Nvidia Control Panel) should do fine as well.

Let me know if this helped. Reinstalling a fresh download of the Visual Studio redists made the game run way better for me. I'm hoping this is the solution to the problem.

A 2080 should do way better than 75fps imo.

Why do people attempt to run dual channel memory with four sticks...

Dual channel, means two. You're gimping your system in a lot of ways by attempting to make it quad channel (which is more often than not reserved for enterprise/server solutions)

quad channel doesnt exist but you still get dual channel for the main ram slots and single for the others, there should be literally no problem. Have tried both and its fine on games I was playing competitively since I wanted a little more. Right now I have just two 16gb though.

a good way to fck up a system, stop using registry cleaner apps or so called "snake oil"

ccleaner is good but probably not helpful for this in particular

people could also try looking at HPET and the system timer, but that's usually not a problem with windows 10/11 nowadays. haven't really heard people talk about that in a while, it hurt some games really bad if it was improperly configured and could improve if turned off. doubt it would matter in this game and haven't tried it, modern motherboards mostly removed the hpet option anyway.

people that have a lower end system would probably benefit hugely from using a stripped down gaming oriented custom windows iso, though if you can't validate the safety of one, even if they are used by a solid core like revios or the other one i forget, its a bad idea to just install random isos. thats only if you actually care a lot though, like csgo tryhards.

i also have a good number of bat files to adjust a lot of stuff that's normally hidden like the five billion nvidia settings that you can't access without that tool. also, locked power options in windows. again though, its good to have experience and to read every batch file you run.

if it was a few years ago i would have put some time into maybe optimizing this game 'cause i do find it fun and i have had incredible success in csgo and overwatch and some other games.

just random thoughts i used to wade through this sea of snake oil a lot, its fun to learn about this stuff. many truly delusional people on the guru3d forums though. DPC latency is a huge meme

will try the vc redist anyway, am curious if it helps even though I just built this pc last week but I make a lot of changes fast to make windows not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

sir please explain how i have quad channel with eight dimms if quad channel does not exist

See my only question is why you'd bother posting this on a thread about trying to help people fix FPS. I'm not "attempting to run it in quad channel" its a dual channel system.

But to ignore the wordplay, I run quad DIMMs in a dual-channel system because it helps when I run RAM Intensive tasks. I don't JUST play games on my PC. (But TBH it looks more neat now that I think about it) But even if that were the case, it wouldn't "gimp" the system to run 2 more DIMMs as long as they have the same frequency and clock cycle timings.. Dual-channel (meaning 2 as you brilliantly pointed out) means 2 lanes of traffic. I would consider each DIMM or ram stick to be a truck in this analogy of a supply chain of digital data. It really would not hurt my supply chain to have 2 backup trucks to deliver my information if the first two get full.

However I can fully concede that adding 4 instead of 2 sticks of ram will slightly change the voltage needed on the dram. But usually this only really matters if you've got super fast RAM, or a poopy motherboard.

That all being said, your comment piqued my curiosity anyways so I did some research, regardless of my understanding..
I could not find any evidence of running 4 sticks instead of 2 on a dual channel system "gimping" gaming performance, except a few videos where the difference was in the margin of error. However in game's that consumed large amounts of ram, I saw performance increases...

Even in game's where performance was lower (in margin of error) they were games that were CPU bound because of either the game's engine either capping CPU utilization, or the GPU just being better, meaning FPS is usually gonna be higher anyways and I'm not gonna be worried about losing 1-2 FPS.

So if you're really worried about that 1-2 FPS, then yes. I'm a ♥♥♥♥♥♥. lmao
Yeah that guy couldnt be more wrong. 4 sticks is optimal in my setup with a Ryzen 5800x3d and I know this for a fact from way too much testing. people have done the extensive benchmarks already. That guy is a perfect example of talking out of your ass

U can try download ccleaner and run registry fix few times.
Terrible advice, do not use CCleaner.

Instead, clear up the bloatware, the difference os magical folks.
