People like to assume that someone with a complaint automatically does not know how to play or needs tips.
Once you go ADS anything in the general direction you aim at will shoot at you. This makes Long Range Scopes completely pointless. A smart Player won´t use them at all because you are not useful if you can´t effectively stop other Players at Objectives or kill other Snipers. Binoculars are a waste of time and not a smart way to play.
I guess I hit a nerve there. Truth hurts. If Sniping is raking in easy kills I wonder why so many people are bad at it. I guess it is hard to actually adjust your aim or wait for the right moment to shoot instead of using a Vector to spray and pray.
Meds, Ammo, destroying tanks are class specific so you have no point there and you are leaving out what a good Recon does. I can be a living spawn Beacon for my Squad depending how I am positioned, I can communicate and mark enemy movement, I can deal with Enemy Snipers and I can put pressure on Enemies at Cap Points.
So, you have no argument and I assume you are just mad cause you keep running straight at some Noob with a Sniper :) See, I can make assumptions too.
My ability to instant kill is balanced? Umm, what? And what extra Challenge does Glint add? Squinting at my screen while popping heads because I have to use Medium Scopes? Sorry that I just want some relief for my poor eyes and feel like an actual Sniper.
I am the main character of this Topic while you seem to be one of those annoyingly superficial background characters that are of no consequence, so kind of right.
Oh no, you got me...wait, that is already the case with Medium Scopes though, so your point is irrelevant even if it were true.
This is too easy. Where is the main antagonist? Oh, no, is this one of those Isekai Stories where I am totally OP? Am I a God?
I also agree that they could remove the sniper glint and things would be fine as well. The tracers in the game make it real easy to see where the shots are coming from. Most times I find snipers from the tracer rounds than from the glint.
So, either way im good with it.
Edit: I like this idea a lot. Would make DMRs worth using for sure.
This, right here, kinda kills your entire post. We "sniper haters" simply don't have the necessary auditory quality to really be able to do this. Some games, like Tarkov or PubG tend to do really good audio quality, so "sound" is a great way to play around the game... this isn't that though. There is simply too much going on (a single sniper in a hill while there are 20+ RPG/full-auto guns blazing and a tank or ten to boot...) as well as just, quite frankly, the audio isn't good enough.
I agree that the glint is an issue... so get creative! Move positions do something unique. My favourite is to grab a sniper rifle, find a forward capture point and then hide aiming behind a cliff or something for cover, so my enemies are always focusing their attention away from me.
I get it, I'm annoyed by the glint too, but the maps are often just too big with FAR too many places to snipe from and the audio quality isn't good enough... without the glint, this game would be an absolute nightmare to play.
Wait, there are already snipers without glint? Wtf devs?
