Computer keeps restarting after 30-60 minutes of playing.
Computer keeps restarting after a certain amount of time, yes i have the option turned off to restart pc on an error, my specs are much higher than the game requires.
i have 700w PCU, 1080ti, 64gb RAM, msi b550 gaming plus motherboard, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-core Processor.
i've ran much more intensive games on my pc and i've never, ever had an issue before this game, and it only happens on this game, even did a stress test for 30 minutes and didn't crash me. My computer just restarts, no errors, no codes, nothing, just restarts on me, anyone else have this issue? or a solution?
Tried lowering performance and balance out my power consumption, doesn't help
Reinstalled multiple times, verified, etc, doesn't help
Have done multiple pc scans with 2 anti-viruses, didn't help
Updated all drivers, pc updates, everything, doesn't help
Installed on a different Drive, didn't help
Lowered all graphics to potato, didn't help

Try a bios update?
TheDeadlyFriend Jul 4, 2023 @ 5:26pm
Have you checked Event Viewer to see what errors and warnings populate before and during when the restart occurs?
You can investigate from there based on codes and whatnot.

Have you tried running the game executable as admin?
Go to the game install folder and run the game as admin.

Have you tried monitoring and recording system performance while playing to see if there are abnormalities right before or when the restart happens? e.g. random core CPU voltage spikes, RAM utilization spikes significantly, GPU utilization really low or voltage spikes, etc.
You can use HWiNFO, https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

Have you tried running the system file checker in the command prompt?
run cmd as administrator, sfc /scannow

Have you checked with your MB manufacturer to see if you have the most recent updates such as BIOS, audio drivers, chipset drivers, etc.?
Your board based on your comment, https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-B550-GAMING-PLUS/support

Have you tried uninstalling your current redistributables and installing the latest supported packages from Microsoft?
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

No promises any of this will help but it's a start.

Have you try reinstall Windows? It may sounds stupid but sometimes your Windows system files get corrupted without any notice.
Does it need a physical dust clean, maybe new CPU paste causing it to shut off?

Yes, i've done the system file checker twice now, both times it's come back clean, yes i have the most updated bios and all that. got all the redistributables, haven't monitored or recorded my system performance, i had my task manager open on my second monitor and nothing really changed before i crashed (i'd look over every 10-20 seconds) but i guess ill try and monitor it.
Thanks for the suggestions and attempting to help me though!

Ill be doing a dust clean tomorrow, and my cpu, motherboard, RAM, are all pretty new, roughly 4-5 months, and the cpu paste was done by a tech professional so that shouldn't be an issue hopefully, again its only been this game for some reason. everything else works fine

check temps
Task manager should not be used for anything other than stopping processes as it is not accurate for showing system use and stats.
Use the software I mentioned above or hwinfo like mentioned above

Are you capping your FPS? If so, to what?

You can also run
sfc /scannow
which will check all system files without having to reinstall.

Okay, i'm back with some updates. I've had all drivers updated, BIOS updated, Scanned pc multiple times, no corruption or issues with system files, I've done as TheDeadlyFriend had posted and made a log of my pc with HWInfo, looked through it just now, i don't see any issues, no errors, no spikes, nothing, pc temps were all below 60C, some even below 50C, also did a full cleanup on my pc with a can of air beforehand as well. Still crashed after roughly 45 minutes of playing, still a restart, still no error messages or codes or anything.

Issue is still unresolved in the end, if you'd like my Logs file i can send it to you TheDeadlyFriend if you know how to read them better than I. (First time looking at them myself)

That sucks, sorry to hear that. I'm not an expert by any means but I would be willing to take a look and see if I notice anything. If you got the Event Viewer logs as well I can scan through that.

Three questions I haven't seen asked here...
1. What OS are you using?
2. Do you have any keybinds that you don't know of setup that if you press, it restarts?
3. Are you accidentally knocking a wire slightly lose that may cause your PC to lose power for a few seconds?

I know that 3 may sound dumb, but I want to make sure we're covering ALL the bases.
