Me to, and i will not screw my piloting with that. They are not so fun, physics it's just mmmeeeyyy.
I want to flight a chopper i go ARMA 3.
I did see some good little bird gameplay that made me want to get sweaty in one again though. In that 1 minute video he did two sweeps of Wakistan with something like 8-10 kills. Inbetween sweeps he shot a solid 500 rounds that either did nothing or hit markers, but those two swoops paid off real good. Seems hit and miss, as you said. Splash damage would be good.
The armed little bird feels like it's shooting cotton balls, had it happen more than once that I lost a "shooting duel" to some dude on ground with his AR.
Even tho I landed all hits with my dual miniguns yet his AR killed me faster, through a helicopter windshield. Had way more success using the little bird just for scouting/pinging enemy positions.
Same with the miniguns on the blackhawk, they feel quite weak like every enemy is a bullet sponge.
The lack of health regeneration also means that you have basically no sustainability, even if you have a medic with you in the chopper; Passenger medic can't reach the pilot to heal them, so the squishy pilot will always be the weakest link.
It's why most choppers just fall out of the sky due to dead pilot, instead of getting destroyed by taking actual damage.
You're all using these vehicles the wrong way.. you get close the ground and you provide taxi service. Those that don't pay get road killed.
With the blackhawk i provide taxi yes, its literally a transport vehicle.
The littlebird has to be used somewhat medium range. It's not like i'm so close that i can see what weapon/class they have. And staying too far away results in a couple hitmarkers and then they move.
so low you run em over.
Littlebird ain't so little.
The armed little bird has exactly one passenger seat, good truck trying to play taxi with that.
In Battlebit flying low is also a good reciepe to get shot out of the cockpit or eat an RPG.
In most other games it makes sense to stay low because homing AA is often widespread, so you want to stay low as much as possible as not to attract all the AA from the whole map.
There are no roadkills with airvehicles in Battlebit.
the cockpit glass should protect you a LITTLE BIT so that only an actual sniper can 1 tap you, right now you can just get beamed out of the cockpit... also it's REALLY weird that the blackhawk can tank 50 20mm rounds but the glass is made of like... old bongs or something lmao
also in terms of the weapons, the miniguns do kinda suck, which is weird because the CROWs humvee and even the one with the turret can both kill someone super fast... also IRL these bullets often richochet all over the place, so in effect has a bit of "AOE" to its impact
I think making the glass tougher, the miniguns stronger (but give them heat limits) would make flying transport helicopters WAY more fun and rewarding. Also could probably give pilots more points/kills for gunner assists because no matter how good you fly you'll end up not gaining much.
have you... like... tried doing this? have fun getting one-tapped by an RPG or just shot out of the door in 1 second
the bird should be more of a hunting unit, of air and ground.
