Game BSoDs my PC
Basically, ever time I try to open BB:R, it sits on the the EAC splash screen for a bit and then just BSoDs. The error is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I'm assuming the problem is with EAC but I can't be sure. I have tried running the EAC installer like EAC recommends on their website to reinstall or repair EAC but it doesn't open anything when I run it, even when ran as admin. I have tried deleting the files in my %temp% folder and power flushing my PC like another user suggested and that did not work. I also read on EAC's website that EAC is uninstalled when the game is uninstalled so I uninstalled BB:R and reinstalled it and I am still BSoDing. Verifying the game cache also finished and yielded no corrupted files. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way I can submit logs to the devs?

EDIT: If you think you might be encountering this issue, use the linked website to see if you have any other games in your library that use EAC and try and run them. This appears to be an EAC issue. My PC also crashed while attempting to open Sniper Elite 5 (which uses EAC) but no other non-EAC games.

If you are Blue Screening, its likely your pc. Check your RAM and GPU etc. Sounds more like you have a hardware failure, and if it is a software failure its your OS files or drivers etc rather than battlebit.

The IRQLNOTLESSOREQUAL error code indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at an invalid address while at a raised interrupt request level (IRQL). This error can be caused by a bad memory pointer or a pageability problem.
The error can be triggered by software problems, such as incompatible driver updates, or hardware problems, like a hard drive that needs formatting or overheating caused by overclocking your CPU.
Here are some things you can try to fix the error:
Make sure that your drivers are current by checking for the latest Windows updates
Update or roll back the driver
Update your BIOS
Stop overclocking
Update or disable your VPN
Temporarily disable your antivirus
Turn off the Windows Firewall
Type sfc/scannow in Command Prompt
Check the disk for errors
Diagnose with Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool
Run a full system scan
Clear temporary files and folders

As per google.

Something else it could be other than RAM (If we're talking strictly hardware and not software issues) is your motherboard if you have a custom built computer. I had the same problem a few years back where whenever I was playing a game I would just get the BSoD a few minutes in. It most likely could be your RAM, but don't ignore the motherboard.

I would like to think it is my PC as well but all the parts are ~<1 year old, everything was working flawlessly up until about a week ago, and it only seems to affect EAC. No other program throughout my entire usage of this PC has caused it to BSoD since I built it and I use this PC for everything. It's my workstation, gaming rig, and general use PC. There are tons of programs running in the background and foreground and only BB:R has caused my computer to BSoD. I will do some testing with other games that use EAC (like Halo: Master Chief Collection) after work as I don't want my PC BSoDing in the middle of work.

Also,
  • I ran sfc /scannow already and it returned no corrupt files
  • All my drivers are updated (graphics and other niche ones)
  • HCI Memtest returned no errors throughout all 64 GBs of my RAM
  • None of my PC parts are OCed in any way. They are all running on the default, out-of-the-box settings and always have been
  • My BIOS is up-to-date
  • My VPN is up-to-date (also doesn't seem to have affected my game in the past)
  • BB:R is stored on an M.2 NVME SSD which has no errors reported by Crystal Disk Info
  • Temp files have already been deleted

Due to the fact that, like I said before, no other game of any kind that I've tried so far has caused my PC to BSoD on game START UP except for BB:R. I think there is something going on with EAC on my PC and that is still my main theory. I appreciate all of your suggestions thus far. I will report back when I can test other EAC games.

I will try checking the pagefile size now. As for repairing EAC, when I run the .exe (normal and as admin), nothing happens. I think I noticed a window open for less than a millisecond and then immediately disappear. This is why I think there's something wrong with EAC and I need to completely wipe every trace of it from my PC and start over. I'm not sure how to do that as their own website is not very helpful in this regard. It just says to uninstall the game using EAC and EAC will uninstall too but this can't be the case.

I have the exact same thing happening to my pc. Played fine then all of a sudden BSOD.

Is it the same stop code (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)? I'm sorry this is happening to you as well but I'm also happy to know I'm not alone and it's not just me experiencing this issue. Do you have any other games that use EAC (Halo: MCC, Apex Legends, Rust, etc.)? If so, could you run them and see if you BSoD on start-up? Does it happen during the EAC initialization splash screen or after the game is already open?
KobesPilot Jul 24, 2023 @ 7:32am
I think its a problem on the dev side, because EAC is having massive issues with this game, for whatever reason I cant get into any gamemode except 127v 127 and im kicked 20 mins after I do, it tells me to launch the anti cheat with the game but It is, and i've tried everything, EAC is working fine on fortnite, rust, etc. the issues are pinpointed to this game only. I've heard EAC is like this on games during early access? not sure how true that is tho.

I decided ♥♥♥♥ it and opened Halo: MCC anyways to see if it would BSoD and it didn't, meaning this issue is specific to BB:R

My problems are identical to yours. Other games play just fine.

I think the only thing that will fix this is an update. I've tried every thing.

I hope not. I'm not sure what else to try though and it's way worse to try various fixes because, instead of the game crashing or not opening, your entire PC crashes and you have to restart which is a huge pain. I doubt the devs will respond to this Steam Discussion post. That's not their fault and I don't blame them as there's only three of them and I commend them for what they've made. I just don't know how else to get any support with this problem. I might copy this post over to Reddit as well with the relevant information and see what people over there have to say.

I'm aware of that. However, I know that EAC uses drivers so it could be theirs. I am unsure how to uninstall and reinstall them though. Also, no other program, game or otherwise, has caused this stop code to occur ever on my PC.
