Valorant is supposed to have a really good system...
To me, having good anti-cheat>>>>>balancing the game, adding new stuff, etc...
The devs are going to implement a custom version of Faceit soon, one without the kernel level checks (which makes it even less usefull).
The only anti-cheat system that actually works is AI based. A good video how they work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkmIItTrQP4
Hopefully they try that on a couple of servers.
You are trusting it works based on closed data. I can link videos of youtubers doing fluff pieces about self driving cars too. A.I. driving cars if we want to cash into the buzz word. Thing to understand is the youtubers in these relationships are rewarded for publishing things quite uncritically. It's almost like a sponsorship. I mean, we know in hindsight that self driving technology still isn't here and is actually quite deadly despite the semi-sponsored videos that promoted it.
And on that front. It's not really A.I. either. It's algorithms and prediction models based on data being fed. So if we want to call that A.I. then a fair bit of ACs on the market are already A.I. based... and your weather station's local forecast is apparently ran by A.I. too and has been for half a century if that's the standard we're going by.
The possibility of losing unfairly in a video game is less of a concern to me than giving up all my info to some third party.
You guys are both miss informed, EAC very much has kernel level access otherwise it wouldn't detect drivers which is what its actually good at. Battleeye is better at detecting overlays.
