I'm not necessarily for artificially limiting the numbers of any class. (for leaders it is a bit different, as there can be only one per squad anyhow)
The current overused class is clearly the medic.
Whenever i check my squads class distribution or look at the scoreboard, its basically 80% of them using Medic.
My last match had 5 Medics out of 8 players in the Squad. One being me with Assault or Engineer, one Sniper.
I know thats just me saying that, not representative and all, but if we are honest, there are 3 classes used right now.
Medic, Sniper and Assault.
I would say that Assault and Sniper share their place, but Medic is clearly No1.
In my opinion the classes arent well balanced and have no real use or point to be there. LIke, why is there even a Support class anyway or a Leader Class?
In BFBC any Recon could place a spawnbeacon and that worked.
Sure there are outliers, where you somehow have a Squad of 7 Snipers for some reason.
Its map dependent.
1. Engineers should be able to build bigger walls and place turrets.
2. Snipers should place spawn beacons and have a better spotting mechanic.
3. Assaults should have some form of anti-vehicle/ anti-building explosive.
4. Supports should get some kind of mortar that they can fire at range.
5. As for the last one I have no idea, never played it bc I couldn’t.
The classes are badly designed right now and somehow most are allowed 90% of the weapons but then you have like 2 completely locked out of them.
Like what the hell is the lacking Support weapon roster going on?
For god's sake, please incentivize PTFO and reward wins. It can be done without making it toxic. I killed 2 flag carriers in CTF last night in 5 minutes and I got nothing for it except for the usual points from 2 kills. Meanwhile snipers earned that in 10 seconds. It felt so bad. I know it's early but the XP/rewards/points system really needs a further look.
With a game with so much grind, there is nothing but reward in spam-healing point C which is a no man's land with no real tactical advantage but back-capping D and protecting it yields less points and XP than 10 seconds worth of spamming C.
I am really worried about the future of the game at this rate but I am hoping the devs in their infinite wisdom know what they're doing.
My suggestion is don't brainlessly follow pushes and don't stop moving until you know for a fact no one can get you from anywhere.
Limiting snipers won't fix this issue. In fact, I don't think this issue can be fixed unless snipers become utterly useless, via removing the ability to one-shot.
Either this game has snipers that require skill, or it has snipers that are pointless.
People don't realize, sniping is incredibly hard. Even for players who are sniper "mains."
My friend, range-finding exist. As well, this game has a 900 meter sweet spot (any shot that hits over 900 meters WILL KILL)
As for between the cracks, not sure. Running and jumping, not likely to hit, but, some people will just take the shot. Others no-life this game, or have insane FPS so it's easy.
However, limiting the amount of snipers does nothing to effect the quality of a sniper.
