But eveyone's feedback is what matters most to the game's development. So if you or anyone else has ideas for Brickochet's improvement, I'd look forward to checking them out. Thanks for posting!
Go on, I suppose £1.79 isn't even the price of half a pint of beer these days. I'll try it.
*£1.99 even*
i actually found that game somewhere on a cd (i think it was a shareware) and once i showed it to my family they were all hooked and we were competing for the highest score :D
i like the level select theme it sounds like tracks in mr robotnik mean bean machine
i dropped a little review
Not that I complain, my mother will be thrilled to play this since all our Amigas are currently out of order.
Anyway, while playing this, some ideas came to me about new features, or new games and then I gave up on that line of thought because what it comes down to is this: This is a good learning project, but I hope you push this in a new direction. I mean, when it comes to Arkanoid clones, take a look at Super DX-Ball by BlitWise: http://www.blitwise.com/superdxb.html
You can see this has been done extensively. Although I do wish he'd "stoop" to putting his game on Steam.
Anyway, look at Welch's game for more inspiration if you like. But then I suggest also looking at WizOrb (super creative and also on discount right now!), Shatter (beautiful game), Ionball 2, EM: Shader Attack, and Simple Ball: Extended Edition. Take a look too at Rollers of the Realm. It's a Pinball game with some RPG mixed in. Again, super creative and a nice example of good production values combined with some new game mechanics that simply haven't been attempted before.
I know what you're working on here is intended to be simple and a nostalgia piece, but I just felt compelled to suggest bringing the genre in a new direction as well. You could make something that is truly the first of its kind.
Or you know.. do that thing that Welch did too, and then milk our wallets for all they're worth with oodles of level packs. Either way, I think we'll be happy. ;)
Cheers!
