Do you get an alert on the main menu? System warning?

Somewhere around "placing objects" stage game crashes and i get little Unity window that is i guess compiling crash report (?). Nothing else.
Fixed. Please confirm

Sadly, still crashes. I think it has to do with Burst using SSE4 instructions that are not supported by my cpu (?).
Correct. Finding alternative. Burst speeds up loading times like crazy, but your CPU is quite old. And no, can't toggle it, it requires a rewrite...

Rewrite as in rewriting a lot of code or...? I mean, it should be possible to create a separate build that doesn't use Burst and can be selected through Steam like beta? (Sorry in advance if i'm talking nonsese, i'm out of my depth here)

Hopefully they'll add some sort of fallback in future releases.
Please try the new version (e). If it doesn't work, please upload the new log

Hi Alex, we're struggling with a similar problem on our own game, can you describe what you did to fix it?

Some old CPUs hate Burst Programming. If you use Unity, disable the new Jobs. It sucks, but it is what it is

Yep, figured as much.. unfortunately our whole game hinges on DOTS so that is not an option, but thanks for your quick reply ;)

Then I suggest you make it super clear in the Store Page and the system requirements, or else you're gonna have a lot of downvotes and refunds :(
