How to do trains and trade routes?
Can someone give me a step-by-step guide on how to get my trains running with each other? I have looked at previous discussions and have not found any success. I already got the two stations hooked up with each other. I don't know what to do with my warehouses.

I had watched your video before on a different discussion and I had all of those things shown yet it still was not working.

You need to have two warehouses and each warehouse needs a tech depot within its range.

The train depots need to be connected with train tracks. Notice that trains exit the depots on the left track and enter on the ride (meaning it's basically left hand drive). It's indicated with the little green/red circles. Trains drive in the direction where they can see the green side of the circle.

Make sure that the outgoing track from one depot enters the ingoing track of the other warehouse. This also applies to the other direction since trains need to travel back!

Last but not least. Show us screenshots of what you did!

Thanks for the help everybody. I ended up scrapping my original railroad and made a new one and it worked out.

Nice. That’s what I’m talking about

That's what I don't like in the new dispatch system :steamsad:

Why is that?

@Obyron What do you think we had in the 1930s? Trains carrying cargo didnt unload themselves nor did the the cargo drive itself haha.

Have not used trains yet. What is a Tech Depot?

I think he meant to type "Truck"

Thank you

Train depot, actually, because this thread is all about train routes ;-)

Now that would make sense. So to summarize this, is it correct to state, "for trains to function, you need two train depots connected by rail and each train depot must be connected to a warehouse."

Is that how it works?
Yes, plus no 90' turns, and both ends need to be connected

Nice. Curious, would the rails allow us to do a 90' turn?
