Stuck on being able to buy a stock

I'm going through the beginner scenario of the game. I am using the assistant which tells me to buy one stock in a competing company. Unfortunately, the other companies aren't showing that option where they should. I did try the different towns region tab and there is no option there either. Just shows region resources. What am I missing?

Screenshot, please? Did they place an HQ and a few buildings?

The other competitors do not have a HQ as far I can tell, just stores like farmers markets and some industry buildings. The drop down menu on the top right where you see the other companies, when you click on goto their HQ it doesn't do anything. I will have to get into the game later when I can and take a couple screenshots.

Here are a few screens. Fort Ransom is mine. I took shots of the drop down panel on the top right not showing ability to buy stock. Also a screen or two of the area and each town's region tab, also not showing the ability to buy stocks. Hope this helps.

I started the campaign alone with no competitor, look like this achievement ruined my game. I'm stuck at this point, can't buy my stock too, so i'm locked here in the tutorial. Please add a warning before we start the game without an competitor.

You mean "assistant" and not "tutorial"? It's supposed to be played with default settings
