Graphics could be a bit more realistic looking
If you could take out that block look and make the graphics more realistic looking that would be great

I somehow don't think that'll happen :)

The design is very intentional.
Yup, as Mansen said, it's intentional so that it gives a more model (toy-like) feel, and above all: can run on almost any computer or laptop of this decade

Too bad nice idea though

I really like the candy look. I would take high performance over photorealism any day.

I like the current graphics... Fits very well for a modern economy simulation :)

I actually really like the look of the game

There will be mod support so it's not out of the realm of possibility to have a more realistic look mod for the game. Just won't be something that we are currently shooting for on our end. But once mod support is in I'd keep an eye out! :)

part of its charm and why i bought it is the schematic graphics. so many of these games have very nice realistic graphics and a fantasy economic model. this game is right to the point -- manufacture and distribution.

I too like it. It's the same graphic style that I used to create for buildings in SimCity 4 back in the day (of course there were some people that hated my style for SC4 too.... so.)

I think its a safe route to go with mod support. On modsupport there can be many things done including new textures. AoE2 HD or OTTD showed that people can easily add such texture packs to give a game a different visual look. It would stay in a blocky shape, but maybe more "realistic" textures will give some people a different feeling.
I personally love and prefer the SimCity 4 style of graphics or the buildings from Concrete Jungle (they are amazing). But its the same as with everything. The Dev cant please every persons preference, so he took a thoughtfull approach to have his own style.
Which is fine in my book as even when its not my prefered style it at least is good looking and coherent.

Worry not, with modding you can go hyper realistic, voxel, or anything in-between
Chennibe 27 Thg06, 2018 @ 5:43pm
Hate the look of the game.

ha. you guys don't get that the mini-look is a good solution to the fake 3-D look of to many of these games. get smart -- it's not about anything but making and distributing. it's not grand theft auto.

Personally, I think the look of the game is quite adequate. However, the areas with trees I have problems with. I can rarely see even a building's access road when I'm trying to plant a new building in forest. And trying to diagnose a break in a railroad line in forest is a complete toss of the dice. I usually have to waste money just guessing where the break is, and rerouting rails in crossed-finger hopes that I've connected the break.

I tend to avoid developing areas with forest when I can. :(

Fret not, for you're in for a treat! Wait for today's patch and press F8. Not going to spoil anything else :)
