Generally you might want to draw with color A using the left mouse button and color B with the right mouse button. Color B is then either transparent of you draw at the edges ob your graohic object or it's just the color that you want to have at this place instead of A. This way you can quickly use both colors.

Hope this helps.
P.S.: With the next release (and current beta: https://www.cosmigo.com/pixel_animation_software/downloads/beta-version ) you can use P to draw with the second color. Just in case you are usually not using your right mouse button for drawing since Photoshop does not do this.
P.P.S.: You can change all shortcuts to better match your needs.
when exporting my gif or animation file, it's very blurry, possibly due to being upscaled. im wondering how i show others my work?
By the way: the current beta (and so the upcoming release) contains a built in pixel size definition that can be used for "zoomed pixel style" exports.
