Selection tool
Hello im an absolute beginner, it might be stupid to ask this but i just can't find the selection tool (if there even is one). I've searched everywhere even in the documentation on cosmigos website.

Edit: when i mean selection tool i don't mean the selection mode, i mean like in other painting software where you can pick between rectangle, circle and lasso selection modes and then be able to move, rotate and resize your selection :)

No such thing, but you can use B (Get Brush From Selection) and then hold right-click and select what you want, it will cut it out and use as a brush, then put it where you want and press . to reset brush back to pixel (or just select brush you saved earlier).

And you can use brush hotkeys for manipulating this brush: https://www.cosmigo.com/promotion/docs/onlinehelp/KeyboardShortcuts.htm

This work a bit differently in classic pixel art programs like Pro Motion NG. What you want is to select part of the art as a brush, at which point you can flip, rotate, scale, halve, double, etc, and stamp back down, save, add to the brush container and lots of other things.

Have you watched the third video on the store page? It's a getting started video which shows some of this.

Not at all, there's no reason for you to have known how classic pixel art programs worked if you'd never used one before. If I hadn't grown up with Deluxe P\aint and then Brilliance on the Amiga I'd have been looking for a Photoshop like selection tool as well.
Very glad to be helpful. I think you'll find once you're used to workflow with the brush tool, its very fast and convenient for workflow.
