Can't find essence of water T1

Trying to build a tier 1 water font, but can't get any T1 essence of water. Help, please?

I looked into this, currently the only thing that drops Essence of Water is Stalks, and they are a "rare" drop, so by default they are about 1 in 250 pieces of stalk harvested. The math runs a check for every piece that you harvest, so 10 in one swipe would roll 10 checks.

I'm planning to get into some aquatic stuff in the near future after adding breathing potions later this week, so there should be some better/more accessible ways to get them in the near future.

I can confirm that the Essence of Water (from Stalks only, as Malkere stated) is quite rare. I must have been particularly unlucky recently (in tier 10), because I think I harvested nearly 1,000 stalks before I got my first one. (Afterward though, they became a bit less rare; I now have several of them on hand.)

Similarly, Essence of Animal is one that I don't see much of. I never saw my first one prior to tier 9. (I later picked up a few of them in tier 6, which I was active in when I picked up that first T9 essence.)

That's strange because while I've had about the same amount of luck on the water essence, on the beast essence, I've had a lot of luck. Weird.
