How to transfer water to vat ?

The vat is for threads ?
It says to add stalks and water.
I have a watering can full of water but I'm not sure how to add water to the vat ...

Also I need water for the planters too..
It rained for a bit and that added water but I cant manually add water...

I also had a notification saying one of my crops had withered because it wasnt underground ?(or was it in the ground ? I forgot exactly what the message said.
It was the mushroom.. How to grow them if not in the planter...

I figured out how to add water to the vat, with a bucket.

But still trying to add water to the planters...

You don't need a bucket. The Globe of Waters can be used. might be able to use them in the planters. Haven't tried those yet.

You need a watering can with water in it for planters and crops. Watering can can be filled near wells or while standing in water.

I have to open my inventory and choose the Harvesting tab and place the watering can into the slot to equip it..
I didn't realise I had to do that..The plants are watered and with the well next to them the garrden is in good shape.

The mushrooms still wont grow.
I've placed them on hoed ground and planter but when it rains or I add water the message says they have withered and something about they must be underground ?

Hello Duane.
Mushrooms need to be planted in a cave. There are only a few of the seeds that are specifically grown in a particular environment. I think frozen demise needs to be in the snowy biome and the mushrooms can only grown if you build a planter in a cave for them.

I was dealing with this same issue of the mushrooms and decided to check the discussions board before completely giving up. so set up a cave solace/town?

I don't think you can build a town in a cave at the present time. If I remember correctly, I tried a few days ago and I got a msg saying this feature is not added yet (or something like that).

I've been wondering bout the shrooms myself, as it's an ingredient to a potion i'd like to make.
Was hoping I could terraform some land put a floor on top and build a basement if you will, and grow some tasty shrooms.. for medicinal purposes of course..

I put a planter in a dungeon to grow mushrooms; the planters don't need to be near a solace.

That's good to know. Only thing is, the closest Cave near my base is F A R away.. Easier to gather them than to travel that far..
