Network issues unless VPN is active

This might be related to the Russian Internet censorship. The in-game global chat is working, however I constantly see messages like "Network unstable, delay >5s", then it reconnects to the server. Community challenges don't load at all (the "Loading..." message doesn't go away and there's no way to cancel it, only to wait until it times out). The tutorial completion wasn't recorded and the points for doing it weren't added.

If I run Steam with VPN it all works smoothly. But I really don't want to do it because it messes up my ping in other games and I don't want to risk my account buying games because Steam might think I'm cheating its restriction system. Any suggestions? Maybe a way to enable proxy for the game's traffic or use Steam networking to bypass this? I play on Linux using Proton but looks like this shouldn't be an issue, many other people report the game working flawlessly and indeed this network issue is the only one I have.

After the today's update I get stuck on "Verifying login server", then I get "Login failed" and the options to play offline or retry. What's the IP/domain name of this main server? I might add it to the list so that VPN is used for it. If it's some sort of CDN or AWS it might've been blocked accidentally because some other "illegal" site was hosted there but it's not easy to tell without knowing the address...

I get this constantly on Win 10. I get stuck in a 1-5 min loop of "Reconnecting to server... Reconnected Network unstable, delay >5s" repeat.

Cant click anything while it's doing this. Verified files. Reinstalled. Seems to be very bad just today. Everything else works just fine.

As stated above. Works fine when I play with a VPN...

I've been getting since I bought the game 2 weeks ago only I can play about 3 rounds in a match before I get the network unstable reconnecting but it never does and If I leave the game and come back in it reconnects to the game and I can continue to the next round but at the end of each rounds I have to do it all over again and when it gets to the final match I can't ever win because it won't reconnect after the final round to say who won.... can't believe the Devs haven't done anything about this. totally ruin the game for me

I have a similar issue (US servers, so I sure hope mine isn't related to russian censorship!). I've played maybe 20 games, 4 of them have gone all the way to the end without me disconnecting. Sometimes the disconnects start early, sometimes like round 8, it seems totally random. Once the disconnecting starts, it happens every single round. Closing the game and reopening it will reconnect me for a round, but then it disconnects again. So I end up closing and reloading the game over and over every round, it's really annoying!

I've reinstalled the game, restarted my computer, restarted my router. I don't think it's on my end...

I am also having this issue now, servers always took years to connect to, but now they refuse to connect at all. still see global chat. cannot connect to any game.

It seems like someone should reach out to you and troubleshoot the network connection issues with you... Does Paradox Arc not maintain this game?
Maybe you should ask for a refund if they don't show willingness to fix it.

Same problem as above, exactly as described by argonNator so I won't take the time to redescribe it, but please can someone find a solution ? I don't even know how to put the VPN you guys are talking about, and there seems to be problems with steam after ? I just can't play... Makes me regret buying it if nothing changed in 3 months ? :/
