Out of every unit in the game, MP's are the most vulnerable when it comes to positioning and poor engagements. And if they're getting away from you and killing all your giants easily, then you aren't using the right units or positioning what you do have properly.
You need chaff coming in at multiple stages during the battle, frontline, mid-line, and rear, to give your units time to kill your opponent's chaff and chaff-killing units. Having units which spawn chaff of their own via tech also makes this a lot easier.
I've gone up against opponents using balanced compositions and 6 melting points, and still won. And I've seen it done multiple times.
There are many ways to deal with melting points beyond chaff likes fangs or crawlers, and there's nothing particularly broken about them. They're one of the most balanced units in the game, in my opinion.
