Stormcallers can also be good
Wraith and Overlord ofc when you manage to keep them alive since Scorpions cant shoot up.
In my Opinion Scorpions are better than many people give them credit.
They destroy Tanks,Balls, all Giants and are not too bad vs Mustangs or even chaff
1st : Scorpion are easy to charm ; it's like a single big sledge.
2nd : If you charm a fang or a crawler, there are huge chance that the scorpion will target that, instead of killing your frontline.
3rd : Worst case scenario, the hacker shield will absorb 2 alphatrike, which is generaly all I'm asking from it. Bonus is that, if your hacker level up, those barriers become very opressive. And because hacker are easier and less expensive to level up that Forteress, they come online and fully operation faster.
4th : Hackers are like a wild card, sometime they will create impreditable situation that offer a lot of value to you. For example, charming a few sniper, and those snipers now decimate is own army.
Does this still work if the Scorpiens have all the range updates? Then they shoot 220 meters. For me this is often a real problem. Especially when they are integrated into a well-positioned army.
in my opinion hacker vs scorpions doesnt work at all
but that just my experience
Scorpions are excellent vs shields
+ they have AOE and big range and are surrounded by chaff
So first problem would be -> how to get the hackers to the Scorpions
but that s just my experience
Ok, I'll try out a few new things and report back.
And also Fangs with shields to slow them down.
Same. Ranged and/or emp phoenix, ranged doubleshot marksmen, overlord w/ground cannon. emp stormcallers if protected enough good too. Scorpions without their range tech can be hit by everything.
1.) Crawlers with subterrenan blitz AND vertical setup. 1 crawler block can eat 3 shots (15 sec per basic scorpion). before going down. if eny reaches the Scorpion the Scorpion needs like 3-4 shots to free himself.
2.) Stormcallers block with EMP salvos. maybe range. It can eat down a scorpion fast, disable its range and other techs, makes it take more dmg etc. Alternatively if you are winning duels with stormcallers it might force them to buy siege mode which frees your frontline forever.
3. Suicide Vet2 Rhinos.
4. Surprise warfactory.
5. (save your balls investment) Steel balls with mechanical divion sometimes can work to occupy them a lot longer but you have to have at least 4 blocks of balls for the tech to work anything.
6. (Save your fangs investment) Shields will double the time to chew through them. Set up fangs behind slower unit. (with maybe extra speed from mechanical rage) to split them a bit. Depends on the split it takes 4 - 8 shots per unit of fangs but they are meatshield only unless you got mad level on them or flaming weapons upgrade.
so i guess my tactic is to ignore the mistake they made, while punishing them into the dirt!

has worked brilliant 3 games in a row now
charged shot phoenix destroy Scorpions
I usualy deploy them only against potential arc-carry, assaul marksmans or unprotected WF when i have superior clear to my opponent. Otherwise scorp will shot at single crawler and die in storm fire.

Scorpions are not too great against Tanks.
Yeha Scorpion destroys a tank 1v1
but you can always place some crawlers in front of tanks , mobile beacon
and then put 2 Phonenix behind tanks and the Scorpion is wasted money
while the tank can still continue to do his job
and phoenix are a stong endgame unit anyways
