Can't find Mechabellum.exe on MacOS
Hi,
I just bought and downloaded the game on my (M1 Pro) Macbook, but I can't start it because it fails to find "~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Mechabellum/Mechabellum.exe".

I looked into the path and did not find an executable in there, but two folders "game.app" and "game.exe". The only executable I could start manually was ".../Mechabellum/game.app/Contents/MacOS/Steel Warzone", which would however crash after the loading screen because it says that Steam isn't connected.

Help would be appreciated. :)

Same. Trying to run this on a M1 Macbook Pro. Encountered this same error. I'm going to try on my Windows desktop, as I assume the game will work there.

MacOS isn't supported, thats why

Oh, weird that I could install it anyway without a warning. Bummer.
But thanks!

One actually can launch an offline version of the game. It would be an out-dated, weirdly texted game called.
On your Mac just open contents of the game, and you will find file name "game". Launch it with Rosetta (get info -> tick "launch with rosetta"), and the game will launch.

was about the report the same thing. they should definitely then remove the ability to install the game in non supported systems like other games do

Please mark the game as not being available on mac — the universal standard on steam is that you cannot download a game on mac if you cannot play it. Makes no sense I can download and install if I cannot play .. the game also shows as "playable" under the mac tag in steam.

So there's something odd here: the game's Store page doesn't have Mac requirements and isn't listed if you filter by MacOS when searching. However, the game itself comes up in the Mac-friendly tab of your library, and is listed as M1 compatible.

I don't know if the Library listing is something the developers can control, since their store page is set up correctly. If they can't though, I know that developers can change the M1 compatibility listing, so they could mark it incompatible to help at least some people.

I tried this as well, really weird, different version of the game. I'd totally fine with running the game with Rosetta, if they only let me play a new and online version!

hugely misleading to flag the game as "playable on MacOS" when it isn't

its still available and installable on mac. How hard can that be to fix?!?
There actually are files for Mac present in a MacOS Depot, however they are very outdated. Last updated on: 29 July 2022 – 10:14:37 UTC

Probably some test/prototype. That's probably the reason for Steam to show it as downloadable on Mac.

You can see the Depot and it's contents on SteamDB.
