Season Medals, time based, out of how many players are there?
Just got Grand Master Season 2, 468th to get it. I'm wondering what this really means.

Is it time based now, because it took 827 1v1s.

And what does 468th mean anyway, out of how many players? There's 2100 online now. Is that that 468 out of all players or all tournament players or?

How to quantify.

This isn't explained anywhere.

Why not simply: there were only 467 other players which got this medal before you?! the total amount of players doesn't matter at all here

Because if it's out of 500 you're near the bottom. ha. And if it's like 2500, or something it's better.

You get more points for a win still right? So it's divided over amount of games played I think.
your looking too deep into it.
it just tells you your place when you got to that medal regardless of time played or matches won.

What are you even on about? 467 players farmed points faster than you, it's that simple.

At the time when you got the medal you were player 468/468.

It's not "out" of anything. literally everyone can make it to <whichever rank> because it's based on combat power total, which only goes up.

Well what I'm on about, is that its not really a rank based on merit but time, unless it's the merit of dedication, and it didn't start that way... In before I know mmr is the real skill.

MMR doesn't show time played or amount of matches so I think there's still call for a rank. Though it might be a bit misnamed now.

It still could show a comparison. It would be interesting to know different measurements.

A won game still gives more points doesn't it? So if it were filtered on time, or amount of games won, it would show some one who played better and won more matches in a shorter time, vs someone who played a lot more matches. That kind of thing.

Well, if that's what you wanted then you should have provided the data that you wanted compared at the time you got the medal and then asked people to provide data when they receive the medal.

So like your mmr/time played or mmr/games played, + grandmaster nr, smt like that.

The data you provide now will be slightly corrupted if you have played games after recieving the medal.
