-a typical encounter in a competitive game such as mechabellum.
But at the end it's 50:50 of the matches where you get a weaker one, or whether you are yourself the weaker one.
The biggest disadvantage I see is when playing with a random partner against a premade team. Even when all players have the same MMR, the random team is often weaker.
So for me it would be best to never match a random team with a premade team.
Give it some time and you will see player mmr begin to reflect their ability once again.
Being able to coordinate in voice chat is definitely an advantage, but that also requires setting things up. I'm fine with playing with random partners, and you can certainly do 1600 or so that way. Just don't have high expectations and it'll be all right.
Yes, that is frustrating. I do not check/want "compact", yet that is half the maps I get.
I don't believe it is a bug. The system just favors queue time over map preference, and I can see the point of that. Yes, I have a more direct line to the developers, but I don't usually use it to promote my own personal preferences -- unless it is like "no CP loss" for losses. :) The devs often have solid reasons for their decisions, an while I don't always agree, I don't believe that I always know better than they do. There are multiple approaches that are equally valid. The devs in general try to look at the greater picture.
I do try to forward community opinions, though.
