About the new update and the Combat Power system
Greetings all,

I just read today’s patch notes, and I’d like to share my thoughts on the changes to Combat Power :

" Players outside the top 200 worldwide no longer lose Combat Power when defeated.
They gain more Combat Power when winning.
Players in the top 200 worldwide can lose up to 700 Combat Power per battle.
My thoughts
"
I believe these changes undermine the logic and integrity of the ranking system. Here’s why:

Combat Power no longer reflects a player’s real skill level.
With this system, a player can reach higher ranks (Diamond, Master) simply by playing a lot, even without having great skill. This makes the ranks meaningless—they no longer measure skill but just the time invested.

Inconsistencies between Combat Power and MMR.
Since matchmaking is based on MMR, it’s possible to face Diamond or Master players who play at the same level as Bronze or Silver players (because of similar MMR). This can be frustrating, as ranks no longer represent the actual skill level of opponents.

Suggestion:
Why not adopt a more traditional and logical system like in other games ? :KOh:
Base ranks (Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc.) solely on MMR, not on Combat Power.
This would give ranks real meaning: reaching Diamond or Master would be reserved for the best players and would encourage others to improve to get there.
The current system combines two metrics (Combat Power and MMR) that don’t work well together. Giving ranks a clear purpose by tying them directly to MMR would make everything more coherent and competitive.

I'm honestly not sure wjat CP is supposed to be at this point even, it's pretty redundant since the introduction of MMR

thats just the old system hat we had before mmr was introduced.
this is nothing new but rather a -> go back to old times before mmr existed
it was exactly like that.
you could only lose combat power in top 200

Combat power never meassured skill anyways

I understand that, but the big problem for me is that rank is based on combat power, not MMR. And rank, by its very definition, is designed to measure skill :/

No you can just switch to mmr tab in rank and then its based on mmr.....
combat power never meassuerd skill and nobody really cares about how much combat power you have

As mentioned above, when I talk about rank, I mean bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond and master. Not your position number in the world leadderboard....
