Remove electro from the game
Counter eyerthing tech should not exist, esp if delivered with low risk at large range.
At least DPS units should not have acces to electro, it should be exclusively support.

Sledges/wasps are cool (do phoenixes also have it?)
Storms - questionable
Melters - why the fk does it exist?

I'd say make the duration 5 seconds at best and it might be okay

no because then you end up with some unkillable units (high lvl giants and/or meltingpoints that have regen). whats a support unit in your eyes? fortress cuz it provides shield? thats a dps unit too it has 20k atk, wasps? they are flanking units mostly that get countered by any aa aside from phoenix

Noone said you cant invent new techs to counter specific units/upgrades. (slow, reduce healing, reduce rng etc.) But not ALL at once.

Yeah investing into more than 1 tech per unit is risky/pointless because it will just get disabled 100+ meters away

Yea, the biggest offenders are poenixes and snipers.
Storms can at least be answered pretty good. (same with melter rockets)
Also, none of the more recent units have that upgrade, makes me wonder why.

lol phoe and snipers are the ones that need it the most. their job is to mess up/disable individual units and they need emp half the time to do that. they are super easy to counter with fangs, mustangs, crawlers too since theyll spend whole time shooting at those fodder unit and never hit the big units you dont want empd in the first place. yall just scream skill issue.

also new units being sandworm and tula? why on earth would you want emp on a sandworm lol. it already kills most things it hits in a few attacks, the only thing emp might help with is melting point but sandworm would still lose to melting point even with emp and tula doesnt need it either (for the same reason you dont see it used on arclights) cuz it should spend all its time shooting fodder.

x counters x in a 1v1 scenario is no valid argument.
When the dust is settled you have your strongest unit vs 5 electro snipers, good luck.
And ofc, this is by no means the case in every match. Its not completly broken, but it needs to be looked at.
Hailspork Jul 26, 2024 @ 7:58pm
Can be countered with photon coating or shields. Soft countered with chaff. Melting Point and Stormcaller EMP can be countered with anti-missile tech or turrets.

lmao you invalidate your own argument while i laugh in photon emission from overlord. for 20 seconds all allies around are immune to emp AND take 30% less damage. if your opponent wants to spam emp use units that can apply photon coating as hailspork said. overlords have it and sabers have it. 2 overlords is usually enough to cover most of your army unless you are super spread. they also have mothership upgrade which summons chaff for snipers and phoenixes to get stuck on. combine that with all your other chaff that you should have and snipers and phoenixes are usually a nonissue with or without emp. the only time i ever see emp snipers and phoenixes be useful is when somedude is relying on 1~2 giant units to frontline on each side which is terrible in the first place cuz melting points, hackers, and ironballs will kill that with or without emp.

Yea i am not a fan of snipers and phoenixes having EMP.
Ultra long range DPS units should not have it imho.

Stormcaller emp missiles can be shot down so thats at least somewhat different.
Fawxkitteh Jul 27, 2024 @ 6:43pm
There's a lot of things ultra long range units shouldn't have in this game.
Because you pretty much have to attack head on, flanking is a big investment.

I only have EMP on Wasps and Sledges.

and this is a mistake you have to understand that emp exist to punish overinvesting in 1 unit
if it werent here most games would resolve around very few units and maxing them out

also snipers emp is really least of your worries have you seen arcs with range elite marks power and emp ?? everything on ground gets destroyed if they get to lvl 3-4 its game over only marks can stop them with similar tech and only if you win chaff war which is supreme difficult since arc are chaff clear

when this happens mp emp missiles are really one of very few hopes you can have to reverse
many times vulcan and ground burning is very effective to stop marks and all the chaff

marks need help to dominate arcs do not only lvl i have lost quite a few games to carry arcs and i have won a lots of games same way cant say the same thing with marks
(in 4 way its much diffrent story)
