At least if you like round based strategy tower defense chess like games.
- You can't blame your team for your losses
It's deep enough that you can sink in 4000+ hours into it if you like the gameplay. There are also new units coming out every month or so.
And if you are weak and still want to blame something other than yourself for your losses there are noobs who equate human agency to rng in this game. Something like "rng unit drops", "rng skills", or even "rng movement beacon cheese". Pretty much if you are ever surprised that's not a real loss it's just rng, and just like with rain it's completely unpredictable and unmanageable.
"If you wanna buy this game only do this if you have a clear interest to strategie games and willing to learn by reflecting your mistakes. (It also tempts you to get angry.)
The learning Curve is steep and the already existing Playerbase is kind of prepared for you.
You will probably have MANY Lows & Highs to experience in this game.
And the game feels well enough balanced but you surely will think in the start and after many hours that's a Lie, THATS BULLS***. Thats just because of the many features this game got to change the advantage to your side - Those who are aware of it will F*** everyone up, and those who are not will be easily flushed down.
Nevertheless after all my hours my overall feelings while and after playing this game is neutral Satisfaction mixed many times with Anger. And I guess Iam not the only one.
Thats what you can expect based on what I experienced."
Note: As it seems to me that there are many new players that found to this game. So it probably wont be a jump in cold water that much. But I dont know for sure - Iam not playing in low ranks actually. I've played +500hours but for 2months I regularly enocuntered and played against kind of new players (in unranked gamemode).
The game is good wholesome business model, devs seem like they like mechs and I like my mechs...the designs look pretty good.
Performance wise I had to turn things down to low or my computer would shutdown, so there's clearly some optimization steps to take that could help a lot.
Even on low its still fun to see. Just not as pretty.
I'm on the other end of the spectrum compared to @Eugen. I play mindlessly, enjoy the fun, and hold no meter for my skill level.
I try things, enjoy them and fail. Failing is fast, and I like to fail fast, because you learn more.
The more stupid mistakes you feel natural to make, the more you lower the bar you hold your ego to.
I quite like feeling things go out of hand as a situation falls out of control as my once suitable counter and board setup unravels.
That's really fun for me seeing my opponent nail the coffin shut, while the dirt pours in.
That's kind of the easy come easy go mindset I enjoy the game with. If my opponent is cackling at their awesome finishing setup, I'm happy the cheeky bugger probably enjoyed the heck out of that.
The robots do cool things and explode. What more do you want?
