Survival mode is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I am on very easy mode and the difficulty curve is insane. What am I supposed to do if an entire army is placed on my flank and I can only place two units? Also the enemy seems to escalate faster than I can, they have far more and more advanced units long before I can afford them. What's going on there? Also how can I order units to attack a specific target instead of moronically lumbering around while they attack everything except the one that is killing them. Seriously why do we have braindead troops that can't even defend themselves? they will prioritise the enemy towers over an enemy unit attacking them from 3 feet away. I have been trying to win a single match all week. This is frustrating and not at all fun.

Also, why call it "very easy" when there is no standard "easy"? And why are there multiple insane modes when "very easy" is this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difficult?? Is there a person alive who has won "insane III"???

So posted this on a different discussion but this should help you out:

Ok new strategy, after stumbling across something and doing some research its very simple. Go full carry Crawler (all techs except the acid) and Wasps with Elite Marksmen, Range (if necessary) and Anti-air. Youll need single target damage as well so pick up some Balls that youll eventually get Range on. It will be helpful to have some Wraiths with Degen Beam and not necessary but might be good to have two Overlords with Photon Emission.

Same as above you overload one side, if you dont start with Balls, Mustangs, Crawlers, Rhinos or Wasps sell what you have and buy Crawlers or Wasps (depending on if you have enemy air units first round). Although it doesnt matter too much if you lose your first round
its helpful to get early XP on your units. Upgrade your units when you can but especially your Crawlers and Wasps and get Replicate on your Crawlers turn two. Also start flanking your Opponents side with three and eventually more Crawlers as soon as you can.

The thing you are looking for most is the Subsidized Crawler card, if you dont see it, its not the end of the world but itll make things much easier. Get all your Crawler techs first unless you go up against a big air wave and then get Anti-air on your Wasps or Mustangs. You want A LOT of Crawlers/Wasps/Mustangs so dont hesitate to take them if they are offered and youll want Crawlers in higher numbers than your other units but Wasps a close second. Other cards you are looking for are the highest damaging items, Highest Defense Items (for your Balls or Crawlers), Elite Wasp, Elite Crawler, Tech Specialist, Junior Manufacturer and most importantly of all Speed Specialist.

I hope this helps anyone who is having a hard time, and im sure there are other strategies but this may be one of the most stable and least RNG reliant.

How are you selling your units?

The survival mode is very good lesson on unit placement. Try to avoid frontloading your units as close to as possible to enemy deployment zone, as you won't be having space to put extra layers of chaff or armored units as necessary.

Positioning units around or even behind your towers not only protects you from potential flank rounds, but also gives you more control over the sudden changes to enemy composition.

right side tower has moddule for selling unit every round. Costs 100. Do keep in mind that you will also get refunded for every unit that dies for good after they out of lives, which can be useful to teching into more expensive units later on, as long as the limited deloyments per turn doesn't completely screw your frontline.

I don't understand why I'd pay 100 to sell a unit for 100

everything this guys said. Survival mode is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brutal if you place your units bad, once you learn where you like certain m/s units though and how they clash and where, it gets a lot easier. How ever hard and insane and up are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dice roll if you beat them lol

for real, after this latest patch i havent been able to beat the hardest difficulty and i dont think that should be the case. Mode def needs to be calmed down a bit.

I just beat very hard yesterday after many close attempts.

My best runs were when singular units were spammed and tech prioritized. Winning army was crawler, large crawler, heavy tech, overlord for photon buff primarily carried. Got a few expensive units good for refunds from cards to pump tech. Speed buffs and increased deployments.

I think I had like 1 melter taken out what little air was sent my way. Oh I had a few missle interceptor things that somewhat overwhelmed overlord spam on one round.

I think I had a strange weakness to air and maybe got lucky. Only a few mustangs from cards were in ranks.

I saved the replay if someone interested.
