Mechabellum

1 crawler flank
I would like the devs think about this "feature". I dont think thats the intended sense for the side areas. I see no one doing flanks meanwhile since patch but the in about 30% of the games there is just 1 crawler placed to rip the army in 2 pieces.

I dont have a solution for this but for me this is just very ugly gameplay.
I would like a feature for ignoring them on my units. Not a fancy controlthing, just a dont be stu-pid to be pulled away by a tauntcrawler.

It feels a very abusive to use the sides only for that reason.

Why would someone hard commit to a flank? So you can missile them to death in a tiny space that allows no deployables? The flanks have always been for backstabbing an undefended tower or peeling off stuff that's deployed too passively.

EDIT: If you don't want your army to get split up by this, position more aggressively and/or use mobile beacon for the affected units (beacon is the "dont be stupid" control feature you asked for).

There was a time with serious flank strategies.

The mainproblem is its way to costeffective. 1 crawler for 100 has to much impact there.
A simple Arc can clear it but he takes way to long. Even a rocket sometimes leaves 1-2 crawlers alive and the army still moves there. Every reaction to this cost more than the fire and forgett crawlers.

I feel this should be punished in any way. Its to simple and imo ugly gameplay. Also its meta. You see this in every second game in average. Even last round as finisher.

its intended, if u decide to put all units on one side or have mass storm its bound to happen. If they can do it u can too?

Positioning is... like half the game. I either don't understand what you're getting at or you're missing the fact that you're being out-positioned. My brother this _is_ a flank.

Pulling your opponent's units where you want them is a primary mechanic of the game.

Just got a flank (bottom left) consisting of:
1x Crawler
1x Firebadger
1x Phoenix
(1x Mustangs added one round later)

Any idea how to counter this fast and efficiently?

Usually with this type of overcommitment the efficient counter is vertical crawlers beaconed to run toward the frontline (causes everything to chase them as they get away from your tower). You can also missile the bulk of it and put one fang hugging the tower to deal with the phoenixes. Generously assuming that you use two missiles per turn and the game ends in 3 turns, that's 400pts to counter 700+ (beaconed crawler is 200pts).
