Has anyone found a use for War Factory?
I'm asking because I play a ton of Survival, which is 12, 14 + rounds, and even then I don't find any use for it, so I can't imagine many people are buying this thing in regular gameplay.

It's a huge target, requires anti-aircraft protection, doesn't do much without upgrades, doesn't do much WITH upgrades, and aside from the prohibitive initial cost, the upkeep is brutal.

I've really tried to find a use for it and I've purchased it in games where it's become available just to experiment and see what it's capable of, but there doesn't seem to be many opportunities in which it's better than spending credits elsewhere. In fact I'd say in every case where I deployed it, the credits would have been better spent on an upgrade or two and a regular unit purchase.

There's gotta be a rethinking and rebalancing here, and I applaud the devs for working hard on this game and taking user feedback into consideration. War Factory isn't a unit you can get early game because of the cost, and in late game there isn't time or resources available to upgrade it, especially not with the upkeep.

Suggestion: Give it its own limited anti-air capabilities and more of an innate ability to spawn units, and think about increasing the production it already has. If the choice is between a War Factory that pumps out two tanks vs two Overlords sending out 4 Wasps each, I'd take the Overlords 9/10 times, maybe more.

There's a strat involving stalling the board and saving money, then dropping 2 or 3 of them on Round 5, with the aim of 1-shotting your opponent before they can react.

The best use i have seen so far is as a finisher. After6-9 rounds of basic gameplay in many situations dropping 1-2 of them lategame finishes instant so the upkeep cost doesnt matter.

Like the dude above me said. You have just no time to react.

Interesting, thanks for chiming in. If there's no time to react, that needs adjustment, and a unit that exists primarily for economy tricks isn't a great use for it either.

I got decked one time by a free Huge unlock dude got one to splatter me, when i responded with double melting point he already sold it and invested in lvl5 mustangs. What a douche/great guy. so i paid 1k in counter to a unit that was sold on its second turn and it only costed him 200 upkeep.

You can see it coming by noticing they've saved 1,000 resources. It's a bit fringe, but it can work, while being entirely counterable.

In my view this unit is poorly designed. I like the idea behind very much but implementation is terrible and does not fit the game much. In survival I managed only once to win in hard+ using it. Most of the time it does not work.
