That would change the specialist to be more like quick supply but you have fewer options.
Good luck buying those units or being about to counter the opponents strategy. In many games you are completely countered at the start so good luck making a come back in those scenarios as well.
However I've also seen experienced players absolutely smash with it.
Seems like it has a lot of potential, but requires a skilful player to make use of it.
1.)Getting overkilled: level 2 Fang will still die to stormcaller the same as level 1.
2.)Not overkilling yourself: level 2 marksman is not that great against against Mustangs no matter the level..
But most bulkier units like Sledgehammers, Rhinos, Steelballs, Fortresses will benefit a lot from the extra level, allowing them to easily rack kills to further level up ahead the curve. Likewise mid damage attackes like Archlights, Hackers, marksmen and Overlords will greatly benefit from the increased damage allowing them to take out more targets in single strike.
it is also much easier to put items on few high level units compared to spammed mass of units. Rhinos with heavy armor and repair are extremely hard to kill as they increase in levels. Hackers are also much stronger at higher levels compared to level 1.
Also a lone crawler flank should not be a problem for you as long as you have placed your units on your backline to prevent flanks in the first place. Having units in the back also gives you much better options to react to enemy unit purchases so you can have screeners and tankers as necessary. You should not lose because of 1 crawler in a flank and if your opponent ens up selling it, you can always do the same.
The elite button should be free or cost 50 supplies instead. Or maybe cheaper upgrades.
It requires your opponent to be an idiot. Or having a very bad starting comp vs you.
Can it work? ofc, all specs can work. But it is prob the worst of all the starting specs as of now.
