I'm confused, Espire 1 Support yet Espire 2 is out?
Can some explain to me, is Espire on Steam actually Espire 2 on meta or are they different? Or are the devs actually supporting a old game with updates despite the sequel being out on other platforms?

They are releasing updates some that were already on quest version of first game, others just for PCVR because the game was abandoned for a while. They have no plans to release the 2nd game on PC it seems, which sucks.

We would love to ship Espire 2 on Steam and are still trying to make it happen. We quoted the PC port for Espire 2 as a multi-month project requiring 9 people and unfortunately couldn't secure funding to make the port happen. Our company has also had to downsize in the past year and could not self-fund the port at this time.

We are always looking at ways to get Espire 2 to Steam as well as PSVR2 but at the moment the port is in limbo.

Espire 1 still generates revenue on the Quest platform. We have decided to support Espire 1 on Quest, modernizing the game and addressing issues. The lack of support on the PC platform for Espire 1 has always been a deep regret, so we are striving to keep the PC version up to date with Quest and fix long-standing issues. We dont expect it to turn things around for Espire 1 on Steam but it feels good to finally fix some of the biggest issues, and hope the game is a better experience for first-time players and any returning players.

Wow, that's refreshingly different approach from a dev and a welcoming one too. I hope it all works out in the end.

Had this for over a year and finally tried it today. Absolutely fantastic game. Hope 1 or 2 succeed.

Great to see such honesty. Even though I played this ages ago I have added a positive review today.

I will definitely be getting the DLC, hope it’s out before it gets too hot for VR in Europe.

Thanks for leaving a positive review @dan0812, really helps, and appreciate the interest in the DLC. Working hard on it every day! Not long now.
Thank you Mike, for your honesty and openness about what’s going on. I’m sorry to hear that your studio is facing financial difficulties. You all create great games, and I hope you secure the funds needed to continue growing!

Played about 50 mins until a little motion sickness ended me. GREAT game. Thanks for making it better on PCVR. I tried both and this is better. Thrilled about the DLC. Will get it in the future.

This may be a bit of a bump to the thread, but I went looking for Espire 2 on steam after PAX 2024 having been reminded of my experience in 2022. I had so much fun with it performing some fun takedowns that I remember being both badass and funny (something about a dual wielded taser? I'm a bit fuzzy). I truly hope that 2 comes out on Steam in the future, and I may look at picking up Espire 1 in the mean time!

I just bought this game a month ago and started playing it. Got to say, it is exactly what I was looking for in a stealth VR game. I've played Unknightly which is fun but the mechanics aren't quiet as polished as they are in this game. Also the use of voice commands is awesome and under utilized in VR games.

This is one of the funnest and best VR games I've played in 10/2024.

+1
loved during the tutorial where it instructed me to use a command. I didn't even know it had that until that moment. :)
