The game starts up, shows a small "Forsaken Remastered" graphic, then the game vanishes. Not showing in the taskbar or anything. BUT, the audio is playing. I can hear the game, but it isn't anywhere. I have to force selkisx64 to end in the task manager. I can't get the game to show up.

I'm running a Win 7 machine, 64 bit, GTX 970.

So far I noticed quite a bit of stuttering / uneven hitching to the point where it is really annoying. i7 3.4GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 1080, running from SSD. Flying through unexplored areas or shooting makes it worse. Any idea which setting(s) might be related? Tried both renderers, vsync on/off, minimal quality settings.

Arch Linux
Kernel 4.17
Mesa 18.1

AMD RX580
Ryzen @ 1800x

I assume it's because I'm using MESA.

I get a black screen. I can hear the logo sound in the background and the intro start to play.

client glx vendor string: Mesa Project and SGI
OpenGL core profile version string: 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 18.1.4
OpenGL version string: 3.1 Mesa 18.1.4
OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 3.1 Mesa 18.1.4

I assume it's because the game requires OpenGL 3.2.

If that's the issue, it should be fixed in Mesa 18.2, which should come with OpenGL 4.4.

Got the game starts with the Forsaken graphic then everything in the task manager disappears but the audio still going for the intro. Win 10 2500k gtx 970. Was restarting computer to stop it.

Did restarting fix it?

I have the game on Gog, not Steam, but there is no similar topic there...

I get massive frame drops (60fps to like 3fps) in the areas with lava and rocks falling from the ceiling. Makes those sections pretty much unplayable. Specs:

Intel i9 7290x,
32GB DDR4,
Titan X (Pascal)
Win 10 (1803, fully updated)

... confirmed that this issue does NOT happen on a second system:

Intel i7 4770k,
16GB DDR4,
GTX980
Win 10 (1803, fully updated)

... no amount of tweaking settings seems to help.

UPDATE (Workaround):

Turning off Hyperthreading on my CPU has completely solved all performance problems. Not an ideal fix, and would appreciate a patch to fix this in the near future.

Have you tried turning off interpolation? While this did nothing for my problem mentioned above, it did help the general smoothness of the game a bit.

Thanks. Yep, no notable difference.

No just the only way I could get the game to stop "running", after restarts does the same thing for me, see graphic it disappears nothing shows up on screen, task manager, etc but the audio continues with the intro. Restarting my comp was the only way I found to stop the audio.

Yeah, got the same issue myself. Can't exactly tell what it is that causes it. I thought it was that I was just using my laptop (which is weak, only really being able to run Turok 1 and 2 with the extra options turned off), but I suppose not. I'll have to see if my desktop gets the same error on Thursday (assuming it isn't fixed by then)

We've pushed a quick fix that should resolve this issue.

Have the same issue!

Tried
MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=4.5 MESA_GLSL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=440 %command%

No luck, console spits out

error: shader input explicit location requires GL_ARB_explicit_attrib_location extension or GLSL 3.30

Edit, better add my specs

Antergos(Arch)
AMD 1700x
AMD RX64
16GB Ram
Mesa 18.1.4

Update, Fixed it!

Mesa users need to add

MESA_GLSL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=150 %command%

to the start options
